The Cabin in the Woods
The small cabin was beautiful. It screamed simplicity just the way Ava liked it. It had a very cozy appeal and was small enough to fit a family of four. The kitchen, living and dining room were connected giving the whole first floor a big feel. Upstairs was two bedrooms and a decent sized bathroom. This was how Ava dreamed her starter home to be like.
'It's beautiful.' She said to Victor who wrapped his arms around her waist.
'It is.' He said, referring to her as he nuzzled his head into her neck. 'Just like you.'
Meanwhile back at the venue chaos exploded as the hunt for the missing debutante continued. 'Where is she Evan?!' His father screamed and pulled out his handgun pointing it at his son.
'Whoa dad easy there?!' Evan said raising his hands in surrender. 'All you need to know is that she is fine. She's in good hands.' The gun went off a few centimeters in front of him.
'Tell me where she is if you want to live another day to see your precious daughter.' Still pointing the gun at his son, Evan couldn't put his family in danger. 'Fine, but if I tell you where she is and who she's with you must promise not to touch or go anywhere near my family otherwise you'll forget you had a son.'
'Evan, we are Montenegro's. We keep our word and stick to our words. Just as long as you tell me where Ava is I will cease fire.' Evan didn't want to betray his sister Ava but he knew what his father was capable of because he saw it firsthand. Whenever a Montenegro says they will do something, they stick to it, whether it be imposing a threat, keeping a secret, or promise they will do just that as long as you do what they please. Evan didn't want his family in danger. He doesn't want to put his wife and child in a dangerous predicament that involves their life. So he had no choice but to betray his sister.
'I am going to need your help though. She left with Victor in my car. I just need to track the plate number and we will be able to find their location.' Evan couldn't believe he actually asked his father for help, but he needed to in order to protect his family.
'The Onyx Annex has high speed routers that you can connect to.' Evan could hear the frustration and anger his voice. 'Just why of all people, you entrust Ava with Victor?!' He asked in frustration.
'Can we not worry about that now?! I'll tell you when we get to the Annex.'
Back at the cabin in the woods, Ava paced back and forth in worry. 'What's wrong?' Victor asked a shakened Ava. 'I'm just scared what might happen to us, especially you if we are found.' The thought if being found nearly scared Ava since she left the venue. It wouldn't be long until her family would find her. They have eyes everywhere. 'Don't worry about it right now let's enjoy what's left of the night.' Victor said. 'Get cleaned up you can wear my clothes tonight, I'll just cook up something for us in the meantime.' Ava made her way to the master bedroom of the cabin which wasn't far from the kitchen.
The two Montenegro men made it to the Annex without trying to kill each other. 'So tell me why do you have hatred towards Victor? He's a nice guy and treats Ava well. He genuinely loves her.' Evan asked. 'He's not to be trusted. I know he won't hurt Ava, but don't you see your grandfathers benefit from Victor.'
Evan looked at his father in confusion. 'What do you mean?' He asked staring blankly at his father. His father placed his index finger on his sons mouth signaling him to quiet down. He placed the silencer on his gun and loaded it up with bullets and Evan followed after with stealth. Once they reached the top of the Onyx Annex Evan peaked at the door and saw two mean dressed in all black, the security team.
'Mr.Montenegro what are you doing up her---' before the guard could finish Evan placed the guy on a choke hold and put a gun to his head. 'If you keep your mouth shut and unlock the security breech on this router then I will let you go, but if you say a word I will pop this bullet on your head.' Evan said. A smile formed on Mr. Montenegro's face, he was happy that he Evan had not forgotten what he was taught he felt as if Evan had a secret love for his father. 'That's my son.' Mr. Montenegro whispered to himself.
Evan released the guard from the gold and followed him to the router with the gun still pointed at his head. 'Type the password so I can gain access to the systems network.' Alvin watched as his son did all the work. He was proud of his son even though he didn't have the courage to tell him. Evan was able to do the only thing he couldn't and that was standing up for himself from his parents.
A green light flashed on the router. Evan took out his USB from his pocket of his suit and connected to the systems hardware. 'All I need to do is break this encryption code and private browsing will be ours. Got it! Dad load up the car and call up some minions I know where they are hiding.' His father left and Evan wiped the entire system clean leaving no trace of browsing history. 'Sorry Ava I have to do this for my family. I hope you understand.' Evan whispered while dialing a number from his phone.
'Hello.' Said the voice from the other line.
'They're coming.' Evan said to the caller and hung up.
