Her Dirty Little Secret

Two little red lines, confirmed everything that was happening to her. From the morning sickness, to mood swings, constant lethargy, and change of appetite. She didn't plan on buying the pregnancy test, but she did it out of whim. She took the test not expecting anything, but at the end the unexpected came.

She sat at the door of the tub with the test in her hand. Thinking how she got into this mess. She cried for hours no knowing what to do. She didn't have someone to guide her and understand her. At that moment her and her boyfriend weren't on good terms. How was she going to tell him? After what she did, she deserved the fact that he wasn't talking to her. He needed space. But when she needed him most was when, he was ignoring her. He trusted her and she broke it. What suddenly felt like good news, ultimately became bad news because she wouldn't be sure how he would react.

Days later she visited the OB and it was confirmed she was four weeks pregnant. That was the same time he caught her with another man, his brother. She loved him with all her heart but she couldn't accept that her child would grow up fatherless, despite knowing that it wasn't his.

"What are you doing here?" She was so surprised to see him and wasn't expecting him to be in there apartment while his brother was around.

"I came here to see you. Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?" Her eyes shot up instantly.

"How did you know?" Anxiety filled her system as her voice slowly cracked. She picked him outside to prevent her boyfriend from walking up. Now they were both outside the front door of her apartment.

"I saw you the other day at the hospital. I was with my dad for our monthly hospital visits for the cancer children. Then my cousin was the nurse that attended to you. That's when I found out." She realized that people can't be trusted and that it's a very small world.

"Did you sleep with my brother now, just so you can get away with the pregnancy? Cause if you did. Please don't hurt him. He's been through so much, that I can't bare to see him hurt again." He begged.

"I know the child you're carrying is mine and not my brother's that why I am here to tell you that I will support the baby and any of your needs." She can see how sincere he was and he wasn't hesitating anything.

"Please, I don't want my child to grow up fatherless." He begged.

"This baby will not grow up childless because I know how much your brother will care for me and the baby. It was a mistake. It's just that you and Michael look so much alike. We were both drunk that night. Please leave Brandon." He was about to leave when Michael opened up the door.

"Hey Brandon what are you doing here?" He nonchalantly said to his brother as he put on his white tee shirt.

"I just wanted to visit you and give you something but I guess I came at the wrong time. I'll just comeback later, when you're both appropriately dressed." Michael was wearing a plain white tee shirt and black boxers. While Cora was wearing his shirt, that was big in her.

"Yes you came at the wrong time because Cora and I have some unfinished business to do. Now if you'll excuse us. Come back at noon, we'll probably be done by then." He smirked pulling Cora back inside, leaving Brandon dumbfounded. Michael pinned Cora to the door after Brandon left and locked lips. "Now lets finish where we left off last night." He seductively said to her.

She shook her head no. Leaving Michael begging with his eyes. "Not until you visit your brother. He came all the way here to see you. So it must be important."

"Fine. You're lucky I love you." He gave her a peck on the lips.

"Love you too. Now get dressed. I'll make some breakfast before you leave." She giggled, gently pushing Michael to the bedroom.

As soon as Michael hopped into the shower. Cora's phone buzzed.

If you don't want him to find out about our little secret, I suggest you comply with my orders.

To: Brandon
What do you want from me?

From: Brandon
Don't deprive me the right to see my child. All I want to do is father the child. I am taking action for my responsibility. My dad didn't raise me to be a coward. So all I ask is a chance for me to see my child. He doesn't have to know that I am the father.

To: Brandon

Okay. But please don't tell him.

From: Brandon
Thank you! Just to let you know, our secret will be safe. It's inevitable that anything hidden will be found. One day he will find out. Just be ready to face the consequences. Remember, my family is very influential and powerful. Anyone will do anything to bring my family down. So be careful who you speak to. No one is to be trusted. Cause every one has their secrets.

Cora was about to reply back when she heard the bathroom door open.

"Who were you texting babe?" James asked nonchalantly.

"Your brother. I told him that I apologize for your rude behavior and that you're getting ready to see him." Though that was partially the truth, he actually believed her.

"You didn't need to do that. I could've done it myself, but thank you it means a lot that you're trying to get to know my brother." He gave her a peck on the lips.

"I know you Michael. You have so much pride, it would practically take you days to apologize to your brother. So I did it for you." Cora wonders how she ever struck gold with Michael. After everything she's done to him emotionally, he still stuck by her and never gave up on her when she was being difficult. Sometimes she feels that she doesn't deserve him, because she doesn't put forth a lot of effort, compared to him. But she knew the mess she made and now she has to clean it up. But it's even more difficult now because she can no longer think of herself.
