Keeping Secrets

"So I guess you're my wife now." Michael said opening the door for Ava. She didn't say a word but rather kept her head down as she walked out of the door. She turned her head at Michael and gave him a small smile as a way of saying thank you. It had been a few hours since they have last seen each other. Though this encounter was for business it still felt awkward even after everything that happened the night before. Ava couldn't look at him straight, every time she looked at him all she sees was his beautiful toned body, which was why she didn't say a thing to him all she could do was give him a smile.

Michael watched as she innocently walked away. He was about to follow her when her father called him back into his office.

"Michael I need to speak to you." He said sternly to him. Michael adjusted his blazer and walked back into Alvin Montenegro's office.

"Follow me outside. We're going to take a walk." He said to his son-in-law who so confused.

"You asked me come back in to talk to you and now you're asking me to take a walk with you. I'm so confused Tito. If you weren't my dad's friend I wouldn't be obeying your command." With confusion in his head Michael yet again walks out the door waiting for his father-in-law to securely lock his office.

"So why exactly are we going outside to talk instead of your office?" Michael asks.

"I'll tell you once we get out this building. Have you eaten yet?" Michael shook his head. "Good, lunch is on me. Hopefully you brought your car here." Alvin added.

"Brought the spider out cause she needed to be let out, she's been in my garage since I was in business school." Michael said nonchalantly surprising Alvin.

"Did your dad buy you that car?" Alvin scoffed, Michael always gave him the perception that he was a snobby rich kid who relies on his dad's money.

"Actually no. When I was in my second year of business school I used half my savings from the commission I made selling luxury cars and invested in casinos, clubs, resorts, start-ups, and anything else you can invest in. I was making good money and bought things I never had and the spider, I call her 'black widow' was the first thing I bought with my investment money. Then the stock market crashed and had to sell most of my assets, leaving me with the spider, my old Beamer I use to drive in high school, and the start-up." Michael adds, "So don't assume I'm a snobby rich kid that relies on my parents money, my dad may be the vice mayor and makes good money, but I on the other hand, am not like that. I have made a name for myself and have not relied on anyone since I graduated high school." Honestly, Michael had his feelings hurt at Alvin's statement, for years he has been trying to prove that he's not just the son politician Carter Solis, but rather an entrepreneur.

Alvin was thrown aback by Michael's statement. It didn't take him long to realize the potential he had and the right choice he made in having Michael marry Ava. There's so much Michael can teach Ava so he's confident that Ava and his company will be in good hands.

The two men managed to make it to the parking lot with out any suspicion from the other investors, board members, and employees. They were all busy with there projects so leaving the building was pretty easy and getting pass security wasn't a problem. Alvin Montenegro's driver pulled up to the roundabout in front of the building. "I will not be needing a car service today Ernesto. Michael here, will be driving me." Alvin said taking out a $100 bill from his wallet as he pointed to Michael. "Sorry for the inconvenience. I left my cellphone at home. Take your children and wife out for a nice treat. Thank you again."

"Thank you Sir. Alvin." Michael and Alvin watched as the car service left and Michael's orange Lamborghini Spider pulls up. Michael thanked the valet driver and give him a generous $50 tip for his service. He along with his father-in-law hops into the spider. Michael adjusts his mirrors to have a clear view of the back, he puts on his aviator glasses and starts the engine. It was a nostalgic sound to Alvin's ears. He missed the sound of luxury sports car.
