"M-Mark?" I said looking at the figure on the ground. Suddenly the standing figure charged at me.
The figure lunged into the air. I raised my knife and managed to cut them on what seemed like their thigh.
"Aargh!" I heard a masculine voice yell.
Mark stood up and limped over to me. "What is going on?" I said to Mark.
"This idiot here," Mark kicked the guy on the ground. "Kidnapped me and was repeatedly beating me for no reason."
I looked at the man's face. "MIKE!" I said. "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?!"
Mike turned his face toward me. "Would you me believe if I said I was involved with the cannibals this whole time?"
I kicked Mike hard in the face. Then, I heard footsteps on the steps. Angel and Will must of heard me yell.
"What's going- Mark!" Will said. He ran over to Mark and kissed him hard on the lips.
"Mike kidnapped Mark and took him here," I said. "Mark said that Mike had been beating him for no reason."
"It's because," Mike wheezed. I turned toward him, he had a bloody nose. "Mark and Will are the couple that stayed together. I should have killed Mark when I had the chance."
Will walked up to Mike and kicked him hard in the stomach. "That's for kidnapping my boyfriend," Will said. "And this," Will kicked Mike even harder. "Is for beating my boyfriend." Mike coughed up blood.
"Can I kill him?" Will turned to us and asked.
"I don't see why not." Mark said.
"If you can handle the weight of knowing you killed a man," Angel said.
Will lifted his gun, aimed it in between Mike's eyes, and fired the trigger. There was no sound of the gun going off because of the silencer. There was, however, a few seconds of screaming coming from Mike before he died.
"Let's get out of this dump," Mark said.
We walked down the steps to the second floor, then the first. The front door was still unlocked so it opened right up for us.
We walked a couple blocks away until we all thought we were far enough from Mike's body. Our new house for the night was a two story white house with a green roof.
"Will and Mark take the second floor. Claudia and I have the first." Angel said. "Who's willing to do watch?"
"I am," I said. Mark said he was willing too.
"If you're both up to it, fine." Angel said. "When everyone finishes checking, meet in the living room area."
Will kicked the door handle in. We all checked the floors assigned to us. "Everything clear?" Angel asked as we all assembled in the living room.
"Yep." Mark said.
Angel passed around fruit cups for dinner. When we were all finished she said, "I'm heading up to bed."
"I am too," Will said.
After they both walked upstairs Mark started crying. "What's wrong?" I asked, a look of concern on my face.
Through sobs Mark managed to say, "I-I've been t-trying to keep a b-brave face for W-Will. I just c-can't believe
s-someone would d-do something a-as mean as w-what M-Mike did."
"It's ok to break down a little bit," I said. "Being kidnapped is a terrible thing. I known I've went willing both times I was technically kidnapped. But the first time I was upset and I had no idea how bad those people were." I stopped. "Sorry, it sounds like I'm trying to make this about myself. I'm not."
"I-It's ok," Mark said. "You're j-just trying t-to say that y-you have an idea of w-what I'm going through."
The rest of the night was mostly silent. The only thing that broke the silence was the wind outside. When the sun started to come up I walked over to the window. "Hey Mark," I said. "Come check this out."
Mark walked over to the window. "Wow," he said. There were at least six inches of snow on the ground. "How are we going to travel in this weather. By foot would take us ages!"
"I guess we'll have to find a way to get through it," I said.
Five minutes later Angel came down followed by Will. "Will, there's snow outside!" Mark said.
"Angel told me!" Will walked over to the window and took a look outside.
"You're not going to be so ecstatic when you're freezing your butts off later," Angel said, clearly not amused by the snow. "We're leaving in five minutes. Everyone get your winter gear on."
Everyone put on jackets, gloves, scarves, and hats. We all gathered around the front door, ready to leave. Angel open the door and we all walked outside, ready to continue our adventure.
