Last Town Before Yellowknife

Around two hours later John was shaking me awake. "Claudia, get up." He said in a soft voice.
I sat up slowly. "I'll be right out," I said. John left the tent. I got up and put my sheath on.
I left the tent and everyone was up and eating. "Good morning, Claudia." Mike said. He hugged me and gave me a kiss. Then, he handed me a granola bar.
"Thanks," I said. I ripped open the packaging and took a bite out of it.
     "How was watch?" Mike asked.
"Cold. But, it was nice I guess. The peace and quite was a nice change of things."
"Everyone start taking down the tents. We leave in fifteen minutes." Valerie said.
I finished eating my granola bar and I walked over to my tent to help John and Will take it down.
Fifteen minutes later all of the tents were down and everybody was ready to go.
We walked for seven hours. "Alright, let's set up camp here for the night." Valerie said.
After the camp was set up we all sat around the fire. We cooked our dinner over the fire, more ramen.
After we finished eating Valerie said, "We're heading into town tomorrow, everyone get some sleep." Everyone said their goodnights and we all went into our tents to go to sleep.

The next day I got up before John and Will. I put my sheath on and left my tent. Valerie was up from watch last night. "Hey Valerie, do you want to get some sleep and I'll finish watch." I said.
"Yeah, thanks." She said. "Wake everyone up in an hour so we can eat and go into town." Valerie walked over to her tent, unzipped it, and went inside.
I woke everyone up an hour later. Once everyone was up we passed around granola bars. "Claudia, John, Maggie, Mark, and I are heading into town," Valerie said. "The rest of you will just be watching the base. We stay here for one more night. Then, tomorrow we'll be on the move again."
Everyone finished eating and we got ready to go. "We will be back," Valerie said.
"Bye Mike," I gave him a kiss.
     "Get back safely," he said.
We walked for a half hour before the town came into view. "Claudia and John, go to the supermarket for food. Maggie and Mark, go find warmer clothes for everyone. I am going to find a lighter." Valerie said.
"You shouldn't go alone," I said.
"I'll be fine, I've survived through this much. I think I can handle it."
"Ok," I mumbled under my breath.
We split into or groups and headed into town. John and I found the supermarket pretty quickly.
"What do we fill the bags with?" John asked.
"Anything that doesn't need to be refrigerated," I said. We both filled our bags and we ran back to the entrance of the town. Five minutes Maggie and Mark came back. Five minutes after that Valerie came back.
"I found five lighters!" Valerie exclaimed.
We walked back to base. Thankfully everyone survived this time.
