A New Group?

I walked for awhile then I stopped in stories to grab food, medical supplies, and clothes. There wasn't a lot of stuff left but there was enough for now.
"What is everyone going to say when I come back? Will I come back? Will they look for me? Will Mike change the story to make himself sound better? Has anyone died in the hour I've been gone?" I asked myself a lot of question and I gave myself not a lot of answers. "I should go back. But when I  get there should I ignore Mike or talk to him? Will he talk to me? I'll wait to see what he does."
I started to walk in the direction I thought was the house.

It seemed I was going in the right direction since I remembered seeing some of this stuff before. A light blue house surrounded by dead shrubs, a yellow house, among other houses I recognized.
Suddenly I heard a voice. "You could just join us." It said. "You would never need to seem him ever again. That is unless you want him dead. Then you'll seem him dead."
"Who are you?" I asked. "And I don't want Mike dead I just wasn't happy with him. Not that it's any of your business." I turned in the direction of where it sounded like the voice had come from.
I saw a figure in the shadow of a building. I couldn't see its face. "Show yourself!" I said.
The person came out of the shadow followed by four others. The person who appeared to be the leader was skinny, tall had black hair and eyes that looked blacked. "Hello," he said. "We haven't seen another survivor in a long time. I am Jack. This is Vivion," he gestured to a short girl with orange hair. "This is Sam," a boy with brown hair and freckles. "This is Paul," a blonde with taped together glasses. "And this is Lola," he gestured toward a tall brunette.
"When the apocalypse started we all lost our parents and in some weird coinsidence, found each other." Jack said. "What are you doing wandering alone when there are zombies about?"
"I...I needed time to be alone." I said. "I'm guessing that you already heard about me dumping Mike." At this Jack nodded his head, his black hair swaying slightly as he did it. "I was going to heard back to my group-"
"Or you could join ours," Jack interjected. "You seem to have supplies. Showing you won't be completely useless. We have a base about ten minutes from here. If you want to join us we'll show you where it is. But, if not don't bother to try and find us. We're moving soon."
"Hold on," I said. I turned around. If I go with them I'll get a whole new shot. No Mike. But there is also Maggie. I can't just leave her. But I know she could handle herself. Then again I would never forgive myself is something happened to her and I wasn't there to help. What should I do?  "Hey, Jack?"
     "What is it?" He asked.
"Is there any way I could leave a note for my sister at the house we were staying at?" I asked.
"Yeah, as long as you're sure about joining us. We will catch you if you try to steal our stuff and make a run for it."
"Can I have a few more minutes to think?" I asked.
"You get two or we're leaving without you." Jack said.
