Caught Up (Steve Harrington- Stranger Things)

Part 8

Hiding in the backseat of Steve's car was NOT pleasant. My back ached from being curled up to fit under the jacket and towel. I was about to move slightly when I heard the driver's seat door open. I froze. 

The car began to move and I struggled, but managed to stay still and silent the entire time. 

Finally, he exited the car and I sat up. I watched him go up to the door of the unknown house and enter. It looked like Jonathan answered. 

Minutes later, Steve, Jonathan and Nancy were walking towards the car. I curled up on the floor of the car and covered myself with the blanket and towel. Three doors opened and the three of them got in the car. Nancy was sitting in the backseat, I could tell by her shoes. 

"So what's the plan?" Nancy asked. 

"We go back to where Mike was taken, one of us cuts our hand to lure the monster out; wherever it comes from is where we run to. Then we find the gate and go to the Upside Down and find Mike. Somehow, we kill the monster in the process. Whenever there's an opportunity, we go for it." Jonathan advised. 

"I'll bleed." Steve said.

"Are you sure?" Nancy questioned. 

"I could do it, I did it last time." Jonathan offered.

"Exactly, you two don't have to do it again. I'll do it. I can outrun it easily." His cocky tone was back. 

"Only if you're sure." I heard Jonathan check again that Steve didn't mind. I was secretly hoping Steve would change his mind and make one of the other two do it. 

"I'm positive." 

Great. He's going to get himself killed. I had to hold my tongue from protesting.

The car came to an abrupt stop. 

"Ready?" Steve asked.

"Ready." Nancy and Jonathan agreed. 

Everyone got out of the car and slammed the doors behind them. 

I waited for them to get a head start before I exited the car to follow them.
