I stomped into my house, planning to head straight to my room and locking my window before you-know-who falls in.
The moment my foot touched the first step of the staircase, my parents rushed into the room.
"So you know everything now." My father said.
"I don't want to talk about it." I continued up the steps.

I sat on my bed, pondering all of the information I was given about my past. It was unbelievable. My own parents kept this from me for seventeen years. They aren't even my biological parents.
My head was pounding.
I lay back and rest my head on my pillow. I was from the Upside Down. I was created there. This world isn't even my home. The Upside Down is my true home.
My mother knocked on my door and slowly walked in.
"I'm sorry you had to find out this way, honey." She spoke softly and sat next to me. Her hand ruffled my hair.
"When were you planning to tell me?"
"Your father didn't think we would ever have to...But then we were told to move back to Hawkins. Sooner or later you were going to find out."
"Am I even human?" I grew frustrated.
She chuckled. "Yes, of course you are. You just have more abilities than a typical person. You can survive in the Upside Down without a mask. You can control the Upside Down."
"Control it?" I asked confused.
"The demagorgans, they listen to you. You're like their leader."
"Then why was I attacked by one and brought to the Upside Down?"
"It was protecting you and bringing you home."
"This is insane, Mother." I stood up. I didn't believe a word of this. The demagorgan was not protecting me. It wanted to kill me. "I'm done listening to this."
