Everything was still. Power was out, so the room was dark. We all sat around the room, awaiting Will to wake up. Jonathan remained on the floor with Will lying in his lap.
Steve's arm was draped over my shoulders and I leaned into him on the couch. Fear and shock filled the air. We were all quiet.
I shivered from the events that had just occurred. Steve pulled me closer and whispered into my hair, "I'm proud of you." He placed a gentle kiss on my head. I took his hand into mine and stroked it with my thumb.
I looked over at poor Jonathan with Nancy by his side. He desperately watched his little brother's chest rise and fall calmly.
Abruptly, Will's eyes shot open. "It got me. The shadow monster got me."
