Welcome to Hawkins, Indiana, where strange things occurred a little less than a year ago. All the chaos has died down since then, so Kristen's parents decided it would be safe to move there for a job opportunity.
Kristen meets Mr. Popular, Steve Ha...
The lab was a secretive place and I was afraid to share things that I know. Dr. Owens said there would be consequences. Ignoring that threat, I announced to Steve and Nancy, "My dad, he knows people at the lab." I thought out loud, figuring it out as we go. "He used to work there. Maybe he can get Mike out."
"You never told me that." Steve was appalled.
"It's supposed to be a secret. I found out a few things at the lab when they rescued me..." Before elaborating and giving away too much information, I excused myself to go home to talk to my dad.

I burst through my front door, not thinking that it was Friday morning and I was supposed to be in school. My mom was in the kitchen and rushed to the doorway at the sound of the door.
"Kristen, what are you doing home?" She questioned. Her tone made it clear that she was surprised to see me.
"I need Dad."
"He's at work, honey, what's..." I didn't hear the rest of what she was saying because I turned around and slammed the front door, running back to Steve's.
Nancy was sitting at the kitchen table, still rummaging through the items from the lab. Steve leaned against the counter.
They both looked up at me when I returned.
"We have to go to the police station. My dad's working." I spoke.
Without another word, Steve grabbed his keys and Nancy and I followed him out the door.
------------
Steve and Nancy remained in the car while I went into the police station. We figured it would cause less of a scene if only I went in to see my father. A secretary was by the front door when I entered.
"Can I help you?" She asked.
I put on a smile. "Hi, I'm here to talk to my father."
"Back here, Kristen." Hopper appeared and I immediately turned in his direction.
He turned his back and began walking, I followed.
"Everything okay?" He asked as we walked.
"Um...sure."
"Well that's convincing." He sarcastically responded.
We reached my father's office and opened the door for me.
"Thank you." I smiled.
My father sat at his desk, shuffling through paperwork. He looked up at me. "Kristen, is something wrong?"
"You worked at the lab, right?"
He nodded. "Yes, why?"
"My friends brother, Mike. They took him. They're experimenting on him and we have to get him back."
He sighed. "It's not that simple, Kristen."
"Please."
He waited a moment, then picked up his phone. I took a seat in front of his desk.
"Hello, Dr. Owens." He greeted on the phone. "We had a deal. Are you sure you're holding up your end?"
