Chapter 32

CAITLYN'S POV

Few months had passed, there's minor changes happened in our lives. I'm currently in relationship with Joshua, i gave him an answer after i recovered from my injuries i got into the incident. We've been together for few months na.

And as you know, Tristan got into the jail for some major charges including mine. Natasha's still on her medication, focusing on her recovery.

I opened my eyes when i heard my phone ringing, i saw Joshua's name on the screen and immediately answered it. "Hello?" Sagot ko sa kabilang linya.

"Hi, love. How's your day?" Tanong niya.

I pouted and played my fingers. "Did you just called me to asked that?" Tanong ko pabalik sa kanya.

I heard him chuckled. "No. I just want to say that i miss you so much." Sagot niya.

I slid my fingers through my hair. "We'll be seeing each other later." Sabi ko and got up on the bed.

"You're right. Happy birthday, love. See you later!" Paalam niya before he ended the call.

Napalingon ako nang may kumatok sa pintuan ko, it was Kuya Calvin. "Hi, baby bunso! You good? Come downstairs, kakain na tayo ng lunch." Sabi niya.

Tumango ako at sinalubong ng yakap yung kasama niya. "Hi, Ate Allie! It's nice seeing you here. Kumain ka na ba?" Tanong ko.

Before answering, she gave Kuya Calvin a sidelong glance and flicked her hair. "Yes, your brother forced me to eat lunch before we arrived, but i'll make an effort to eat more later since si Tita ang nagluto." Sabi ni Ate Allie, Kuya Calvin's girlfriend.

Napakamot naman sa ulo si Kuya Calvin while looking at me. "I didn't know that Mom cooked lunch for us tho." Depensa niya.

"Ay! Tita told us that your designer will be here in an hour. You have to choose a few debut gowns for the event later. Is there anything else you want?" Tanong ni Ate Allie.

Umiling ako. "As long as nagawa nung designer yung mga sketch ko sa aking gown, i'm all good." Sagot ko.

Nang makababa kami ng hagdan, i saw Kuya Hale's girlfriend this time. Nilapitan ko siya at binati. "Long time no see! How's your life in the States?" Tanong ko.

She smiled at me. "It's good. Your brother went there to visit my parents, they like him a lot." Sagot ni Ate Hailey, Kuya Hale's girlfriend.

"It'll be more nice if you guys were there." Dugtong niya pa.

I motioned them to sit before i answered. "I'll look forward to it, Ate. But Kuya didn't mention na he went there to meet your parents." Sabi ko while looking at Kuya Hale, with a sad face.

He stopped chewing his food and raised his eyebrows at me, looking furious. "You were busy preparing for your 18th birthday. 'Wag mo kong gawing masama dito, bunso." Sabi niya.

I was about to speak when someone kissed my cheek, napalingon ako. It was Joshua, he was smiling at me widely with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. "Good afternoon, love." Bati niya.

Fvck.

Napaawang ang aking bibig. "I thought you're busy.."

"I lied. I'm not busy if it's about you, love." Sabi niya and gave me flowers. "Tita invited us for lunch, kaya nagsinungaling ako na mamaya pa tayo magkikita." Dugtong niya pa.

I laughed. "Wow. So, this is your peace offering?" Pagtutukoy ko sa binigay niyang flowers.

He smirked. "Why? You want something more than a bouquet of flowers?" Biro niya.

"Fvck you," I whispered.

Napatawa siya. "Nagbibiro lang, love." Sabi niya.

"Do you mind if you guys stop flirting with each other for a while? We're in the dining room, eating lunch?" Pabirong sabi ni Mommy. 

"Hay nako! hindi ba kayo nahiya na nasa harap niyo kami? Have some respect!" Pabirong sabi rin ni Tita, Joshua's mom. 

I immediately apologized at palihim na siniko si Joshua na nagpipigil ng tawa sa tabi ko. "Pagkatapos nating kumain magpahinga muna kayo ha. And, hintayin na dumating yung maga-ayos satin." Sabi ni Mommy. 

Dad snapped his finger as if he had forgotten something. "Bago ko makalimutan. After this event, we're planning to go somewhere. Everyone's invited, just be ready and pack your luggage." Sabi niya. 

I uncontrollably raised my eyebrows as i was about to take a bite of my food. "And you're telling this to us now? I don't have much time to prepare!" Sabi ko. 

"Actually, we already packed our luggage. And it's supposed to be a surprise trip for your birthday, but Dad already spoiled it." Sabi ni Kuya Sky. 

Joshua patted my head to calm down. "Love. I'll help you pack your things after the event, don't worry." Sabi niya.

I stood in front of the full-length mirror, carefully inspecting my own reflection. Ang daming preparations ang nangyari for my debut, and tonight, finally, all the hard work would pay off. I chose an elegant gown in a soft shade of blush blue, with intricate lace and beadwork that shimmered under the room's warm lights. The dress hugged my waist perfectly, flaring out into a voluminous skirt that made me feel like a princess somehow. 

I bit my lip and turned slightly to see how the gown moved. The silk fabric glided smoothly with every step. The makeup artist was busy perfecting the last touches of my look, dabbing a light shimmer on my cheeks, highlighting the natural glow i already had. My long, wavy hair was styled half-up, half-down, adorned with delicate crystal pins that sparkled every time i moved my head.

I saw Cristina and Juliana through the mirror, nilingon ko sila. "Are you ready? They're waiting for you." Tanong saakin ni Juliana. 

"You look stunning!" Puri ni Cristina. 

"Yes, I'm ready! Thank you for the compliment, Cristina." I replied, glancing at the small bouquet of white roses on the vanity. I picked it up and felt a flutter of excitement in my stomach. I could hear the faint chatter and music from the hall where the guests were already waiting for my grand entrance.

As i took one last look in the mirror, i couldn't help but smile. "This is it," i whispered to myself. Tonight, I'm not just Caitlyn the girl—I'm Caitlyn, the debutante.

In a few moments, i would step out and face the crowd, but for now, i took a deep breath, feeling both nervous and excited at what this magical night had in store for me.
