Chapter 25

CAITLYN'S POV

It's university week, all of the students were preparing for their own booths per department. "Where are we going after we do this?" Tanong ni Juliana sakin.

We're assembling our booth for our department also. Our class president asked for helped earlier to set this up, dahil busy rin ang ibang organization members na mag-assemble ng booths na naka-assign sa kanila.

Nilingon ko siya. "We can look around if you want." Sagot ko.

"Caity!"

Lumingon ulit ako, it was Cristina. She ran towards us, signaled us to wait before she speak. "Caity, i made a mistake." Sabi niya.

I got confused. "What do you mean, Cristina?" Tanong ko.

"I added your name on the list sa dance competition. It is scheduled for the final day of university week. Is that okay with you?" Tanong niya.

Nag-thumbs up naman ako at ngumiti. "Yup. All goods! Wala rin naman akong magagawa kasi nakalista na yung name ko." I joked.

Napasimangot siya bigla. "I am really sorry, Cait." Sabi niya.

Napatawa ako. "It's okay, Cristina. You don't have to worry about it." Sabi ko.

"Do you want me to join you also? Para hindi awkward sayo." Suggestion ni Juliana.

Umiling ako. "No need to adjust, Juliana. Thank you sa concern mo."

Cristina told me about the dance practice schedules at kung saan lugar magp-practice ang mga nasa listahan for the competition. As expected, meron kaagad kaming practice ngayong araw.

"After lunch yung dance practice niyo, Cait. We still have time to look around sa mga booths. Gusto mo libutin while we're eating?" Suggestion ni Cristina.

"I'm good with that." Sabi ni Juliana.

Tumango ako. "Sige. How about the others? Nasaan nga pala sila?" Tanong ko.

"Kaizer told me that they're practicing for their basketball game tomorrow. Do you want to watch them play?" Tanong ni Cristina.

Umiling ako at tinignan siya. "No, thanks. Much better if hindi natin sila kasama today and why Kaizer is texting you. Are you guys dating already?" I teased.

She glared at me and pulled up her middle finger. "Are you fvcking kidding me? We're not like that." Inis niyang sabi.

"Just date already." Panga-asar rin ni Juliana.

"Shut up, never in my dead body!" Sigaw ni Cristina.

"Please, get rest when you get home. See you again tomorrow!" Paalam ng dance instructor namin.

I took my gym bag and left the gymnasium para pumunta sa parking lot. I took my phone out of my pocket to text Kuya Hale, sinabihan niya ako kanina na magsabi kaagad ako kapag natapos na yung dance practice namin, kumaway ako nang matanaw ko sila.

He took my gym bag and put it inside the car. "How's your dance practice?" Tanong ni Kuya Calvin.

Nag-thumbs ako at nginitian siya. "All good! But my whole body is aching already, maybe because it's my first time?" Tanong ko.

Narinig ko ang mahinang pagtawa ni Kuya Calvin. "That's normal, bunso. You don't have to worry about it." Sagot niya.

Naglakad palapit sakin si Kuya Hale, he took something out of his bag and put it on my face. Napalayo ako bigla nang maramdaman kong sobrang lamig nung hawak niya.

"He said that you should drink this to gain some energy." Sabi niya.

Napakunot ang aking noo sa sinabi niya. Before i speak, he shushed me and smiled. "Galing kay Joshua. Isn't it lovely?" He teased.

Kinuha ko yung energy drink at tinignan siya. "Hm. I actually don't need this pero okay na rin." Sabi ko saka pumasok sa loob ng sasakyan.

Pumasok na rin sila sa loob, they were both on the front seat. Pinasadahan ako ni Kuya Hale ng tingin while putting on his seatbelt bago siya magsalita.

"Do you want to eat something else? Mom told us to order some takeout for dinner. They're still at the company." Tanong niya.

"Hm. How about chicken wings?"

Kuya Calvin started the engine before he speak. "Nice choice, bunso! You're good with any brands naman, right? Basta chicken wings." Sabi niya.

Tumango ako. "Kuya, 'wag spicy lahat ha." Paalala ko.

"We're all aware that you dislike spicy food, so don't worry."

Nang makarating kami sa bahay, nagtaka ako bakit bukas ang ilaw sa loob. Hindi pa kami sinasabihan ng parents namin kung nakauwi na ba sila, tinignan ko si Kuya Hale.

"Kuya, i think there's an intruder inside."

He laughed. "Chill. Joshua's inside, i let him in." Sabi niya.

Nanlaki ang mata ko at pumasok sa loob. He was seated in the living room when he smiled at me. "nice timing. I already set up the table for dinner." Sabi niya.

He's wearing a shirt and cargo shorts. How is he able to look that good and smile so sincere? I just realized that.

I looked away and felt my cheeks were burning in red. "How did you get inside?" Tanong ko.

He walked towards my direction and bent down to my eye level. Napadaing ako nang pitikin niya ang noo ko. "I got the passcode from your brothers. I promise to keep it secret, so don't worry."

His face moved gently in the direction of my ears. "Why is your face red, too? Did I just make your heart race again?"

I shoved him aside and glared. "Shut the fvck up, Josh. Bakit ka ba kasi nandito?" Inis kong tanong.

Napatawa siya ng mahina bago sumagot. "Wala na ba kong rights dito? Also, they invited me here." Turo niya sa mga kapatid ko.

"Stop fighting. Let's go to the dining room ang start eating." Sabi niya Kuya Hale.

I rolled me eyes and went to the dining room para umupo, ganon din ang ginawa ni Joshua. "Have you had the energy drink that i gave you?" Tanong niya.

I shook my head at tinignan siya. "Nope. Nasa bag ko pa din siya until now. Nung nalaman ko kasing ikaw ang nagbigay, nawalan ako ng gana." I joked.

He pouted. "Why? You don't like it?"

"Not because i dislike it, but rather because i don't feel like getting energy drinks. I just tucked it into my bag." Sagot ko.

I froze when i felt his hands tucking my hair strands behind my ears. "Okay. Then, tell me what are the things you like or dislike. I want to know more about you, Heidianne."
