Chapter 27

CAITLYN'S POV

"Heidianne..."

I blinked. "What's up?" Tanong ko.

Tinignan niya ako. "I've wanted to tell you-something for a while now. I didn't know how to say it." Sagot niya.

Napatawa ako ng mahina. "Bro, c'mon. It's just the two of us here, though. You can tell me anything– or do you want to go somewhere first before you say it?" Tanong ko.

He laughed nervously. "I wish i could say it..right now."

I pressed my lips and leaned back on my seat, maybe this isn't the right time to be stubborn. He seems nervous and tense, if hindi niya need ng pera or something then what is it?

He started the engine at nagmaneho na. I bit my lip. "Are you sure that you're okay? Gusto mo ba pumunta ng hospital para ma-check-"

"I'm fine, Heidianne. It's just that, i feel like my heart is about to explode."

My eyes widened. "Omygod. Are you ill or something? We really need to get to the hospital right now! I'm gonna call your parents al-"

"No, Heidianne. Can you calm down?" he said, stepping on the car's breaks while glancing in my direction.

We're on the middle of the road, tinignan ko siya. "How can i calm myself down? You're sick!" Natatarantang sabi ko.

He rubbed his hands across his face in frustration. "It's not like that. Are you really that clueless, Heidianne?" Tanong niya.

"What do you mean, clueless?"

"I'm obviously interested in you, Heidi. Can't you see it?"

After hearing what he said, my eyes grew wide, leaving me stunned. I even blinked to see if i was dreaming pero hindi talaga.

"Are you sure? Maybe, you're confused?" Tanong ko. "You can't like me, we're friends!" Dugtong ko pa.

Tinaasan niya ako ng kilay. "Can't we take our relationship to a different level? or is this your way of rejecting me?" Tanong niya.

I smiled awkwardly. "Maybe?"

Napabuga siya ng hangin. "Think about it first, Heidianne." Sabi niya. "Dammit. It would have been better if i had said this to where we were heading instead of here. Fvck!" Dugtong niya pa.

Wow. So, he does have a plan for this? Hindi naman niya gawain 'to, as far as i know. Tinignan ko siya, it's not that bad to be with him. Maybe, nagulat lang ako because of his sudden confession.

"Josh, you can't like me."

Napakunot ang kanyang noo. "Why not?" Tanong niya.

"If our parents found out about us, they would be quite angry.   I don't want to ruin their relationship because of—"

Napatawa siya sa sinabi ko. "I already told them about my intention to you, they also gave me their permission to court you."

Nanlaki mata ko nang ilapit niya yung mukha niya sakin, ngumiti siya. "Sagot mo na lang hinihintay ko." Dugtong niya.

Tinulak ko siya palayo habang iniiwasan ko siya ng tingin. "Hindi ka ba sinermonan or something. I'm sure they got mad dahil sa mga sinabi mo."

He patted my head. "We'll talk more when we arrive at our destination. To satisfy your hunger, we ought to grab something to eat, don't we? Ayokong nagugutom ka."

I quickly looked away to avoid his stare. I can feel that i'm blushing too. Fvck!

After we talked about his confession, hinatid rin ako kaagad ni Joshua sa bahay. I quickly removed my seatbelt bago siya tignan. "Thanks for tonight, Joshua. Ingat ka sa pag-uwi!" Paalam ko.

He smiled then pinched my cheeks softly. "Goodnight."

"One more thing!"

Nilingon ko siya. "Yeah?"

"Thank you for letting me pursue you." Sabi niya saka ako binigyan ng halik sa noo.

Kaagad akong lumabas ng sasakyan niya at hindi siya nilingon. Why would he do that? Hindi ba siya marunong magbigay ng signal.

Kuya Hale looked at me with a wide smile on his face nang makarating ako sa bahay. "How did it went?" Tanong niya.

I got confused. "About what?"

Pinitik naman ni Kuya Calvin yung noo ko, napadaing naman ako. "Idiot. Syempre, yung date niyo ni Joshua!" Sagot niya.

I shook my head. "N—no, it's not like that! He just took me out for dinner!" Depensa ko.

"But he confessed his feelings to you, right?" Tanong ni Kuya Hale.

"Yeah.."

"And took you out for dinner? That's obviously date." Sabi ni Kuya Calvin.

I raised my hand, telling them to stop. "Okay, okay! We're dating, are you that happy?" Tanong ko.

Kuya Calvin clapped his hands bago ako inakbayan. "You've grown up, my little baby. We're looking forward for your love life." He teased.

I glared at him and shoved him. "Kuya naman! Why would you say that? Nakakainis ka naman!" Sigaw ko.

"Bro, you got her upset. How can you make it up with her? It's clearly your fault!" Saway ni Kuya Hale.

Iniwan ko silang dalawa doon na naga-away, pumasok na ako sa kwarto ko at humiga sa kama. Pipikit na sana ako nang biglang umilaw yung phone ko, i immediately got up to check it.

Napaawang ang bibig ko nang makita yung pangalan ni Joshua sa screen, he texted me. "Wow. This guy's a bit clingy than usual." Bulong ko.

Joshua:

See you tomorrow, sweet dreams.

Napabuga ako ng hangin bago ko pindutin yung call button. "You already miss me?" Tanong niya kaagad nang masagot niya tawag ko sa kabilang linya.

I rolled my eyes. "Shut the fvck up, Josh. Why you texted me? Kakakita lang natin earlier!" Sabi ko.

I heard him laughed. "Answer my question first. Why didn't you text me instead of calling? Do you want to hear my voice that bad?" Panga-asar niya.

I bit my lip. "Ang kapal naman ng mukha mo. Who would be happy hearing your voice?" Tanong ko.

He sighed. "You.. aren't you doing that right now?"

My cheeks began to flush. "H—hoy! Hindi ah. Matulog ka na nga. Goodnight!" Sabi ko.

"Wala ka ng ibang sasabihin sakin?" Tanong niya pabalik.

I didn't answer his question and ended the call, humiga na ulit ako sa kama at pumikit. I felt embarrassed from what i did earlier, hindi ko rin alam sa sarili ko kung bakit siya tinawagan.

I frustratedly brushed my hair. "Fvck, this is completely crazy! Why must he make a confession?" Bulong ko.
