I'm drifting in a cold moonless night uncertain to where I will go. I saw different creatures of the night roam around looking for their food, their prey.
A succubus flees away as she saw me drifting in the wind. Afraid of the unknown energy I'm shrouded with.
Dropping myself silently on the paved ground that mortals use to cover the face of nature, I began my quiet stroll on this silent town.
I don’t know where the strange pulling in my gut leads me as I hover heedlessly on the mortal land.
Then I saw a horde of shadow people, drifting mindlessly but upon further observation I found out that they are going in the same direction.
Curious, I followed them up skirting just along the wall they created by floating side by side.
These creatures are very much similar to what I am, they are neither good nor evil and their lack of substance makes them unnoticeable in the other realm.
They are harmless souls that become lost in the underside of reality and they are drifting everywhere looking for the light they believed that will lead them back to their lost physical self.
I saw a few succubi and incubi floating nearby as they probably curious about the palpable sense of fear I felt floating in the night.
I came up in a grand estate mansion and the fear I sensed before intensified.
Looking up on the tall structure, I saw that the Shadows already broke their way in on the windows and they were streaming in hordes towards it.
Jumping up on one of the windows, the Shadows immediately dispersed to give me room as I landed on the ledge and right then, I saw them.
There’s a group on the farther side of the room, milling and pinning the body’s soul on the floor and their number obscures my sight while on the bed, there’s a larger group of Shadow people moving in a never-ending circle, waiting at the right moment when one of them could steal the body as its own.
I want to leave them and the mortal to its fate. I never interfere with the workings of the mortal and the immortal realm especially since the time that I exiled myself, but something tugs me back.
Curiosity pulled at me like a magnet to an iron, walking towards where the pull is stronger; the Shadows parted the same way that a man of the old times parted the Red sea but if that man found safety at the end of the churning sea wall, what I found lying battered on the floor froze the life out of me.
It’s a child’s soul, pure and fragile.
I gave up everything when I voluntary exiled myself from my land; my birthright, my family and my people, and started roaming in an endless circle around the realm called Earth but never in my life did I dream or think of ever finding my destined one.
