RECAP:
Elisha was on the process of asking another question when she felt a ripple of energy crawling on her back, raising goosebumps on her arms. Her eyes immediately sought Thallan’s, just in time for her to see the same thing passing on his body and she also noted the glazed look on his eyes.
The answer for her internal question comes; Thallan was being summoned back to Hell.
A look of hesitation flitted over Thallan’s dark features as he look over Elisha’s direction then to Gabriel and Arael and then back to Elisha.
“You’re being summoned.” Elisha’s words sounded more like a question than a statement.
“Yes.” Thallan replied but he couldn’t commit himself to the word and he cast a look of uncertainty on Elisha’s direction.
He was torn between his duty as Hell’s Keeper and his need to stay and protect Elisha.
*************
He can neither leave Elisha alone by herself especially when Gabriel and Arael’s presence may have alerted any nearby Paranormal beings or Magicfolk which will bring them to Elisha nor can he disregard the Keeper’s summon.
He was honor-bound to protect Elisha and to his duty as a Keeper but he can’t possibly choose from either one.
Seeing the by-play on indecision on Thallan’s face, Elisha took the matter over her hand.
“You can go, Thallan. I will be fine here. Emily and… well Gabriel are here. I’ll be as safe with them as I am with you.” Elisha stated as she laid a calming hand on his arm.
Elisha’s suggestion was tempting. Thallan could’ve easily agreed to her as the call of his duty was persistently nagging on his mind and the way that the message was being passed on his mind told him that there was a grave situation happening in Hell.
“Go..” Elisha said. “I will still be here when you come back.” She added.
Another shudder passed on Thallan’s body; it was more persistent and powerful than before. Something big and dangerous was happening in Hell, either there was a powerful entity trying to break into Hell’s prison to release someone or someone powerful was trying to escape and Hell needed every Keeper that it have for support.
“GO!” Elisha sighed exasperatedly. She can clearly see Thallan’s internal struggle and the stupid demon just won’t agree with her eventhough she was giving him the choice to leave her. Stupid demon and their equally stupid pride!
“Fine.. Fine.. I'm going.” Thallan replied after hearing the annoyance on her voice. He will go back to Hell but there’s no way that he was going to leave Elisha alone especially with Gabriel’s presence despite the fact that the archangel can easily handle whatever creature that came in his way and that threaten his ward.
