RECAP:
“EL!”
“Arael!”
Both Demon and Angel call out in warning. Both knew the threat that one can pose to another and the danger that the other could receive.
Inspite of their supernatural abilities they failed to stop Elisha and Emily from reaching each other and both feared the worst.
Gabriel feared for the mortal woman’s safety. Arael or Emily on her past life is under his care and protection, and since he gave his permission to bring her back to the Mortal realm, he was responsible for her and her actions but just like any young angel, she’s very volatile and her control over her power can’t be trusted.
Thallan was known far and wide in Underworld and beyond as a demon with a cold, indifferent personality and a temper that was easily raised into a burning fury, and his duty as a Hell Keeper only added ‘fearsome’ to his long list of negative traits yet Elisha just added another one on his list; worrier.
He didn’t know if she’s just unconcerned with her own safety or her sense of preservation was not well-developed for her to run headlong to the fledging when he already informed her that her sister was way different from the one that she knew before, but there she was running towards a possible source of danger.
“Elisha!” He hissed as he made a move to follow after her and saw Gabriel doing the same but they were too late..
*************
Elisha and Arael met each other in a tight embrace, clinging tightly on each other’s body as they sink on the marbled floor.
Arael looked back to where Gabriel halted in midstride and her eyes flashed in irritation. “I will never hurt my sister, Gabriel. Your fear is for naught.”
“Ems..” Elisha drew her sister’s attention back to her by cupping her cheek. Never in her wildest dream did she dreamt of ever seeing her sister again, and to see her, feel her and talk to her was a dream come true.
“Oh God! I missed you!” Elisha swept her little sister in a crushing hug, oblivious to the look of amazement that the older angel had given to her or the amused one from her demon.
“You didn’t change a bit? You’re.. you’re still small.” Elisha blurted out as she held her sister in arm’s length and that’s when she saw a pair of tiny silver wings peeking from the folds of her sister’s dress. “You’re an angel?”
She turned around to look at Thallan. “You mentioned.. Ohmigod!”
She turned back to her angel sister who was looking at her with wonder and excitement.
“They said that I must forget everything that I experienced while I'm still human but.. I could never forget you, Lissy. They tried to erase you from my mind but they never succeeded but I only remember you.” Emily complained while giving Gabriel a stink-eye, and Elisha couldn’t help the tightening on her chest when she heard what her sister had gone through.
Myriad of negative thought passed on her mind. What did they do to her to make her forget their parents? Or the things they had done to her in their effort to make her forget about me?
