Elisha released a relieved breathe when she saw Thallan striding out from the bushes as she was about to slide in her car, and without a word he climbed in the backseat.
Elisha choose to ignore his silence and drove the kilometer ride to her ancestral home while watching Thallan fidget restlessly in the backseat before he brought the car's window down and leaned back in the seat with his eyes closed.
*************
Cruel torture.
That was what Thallan could describe of what he was currently experiencing as he forced himself not to reach out on Elisha. It was pure agony to sit in the closed space of her car without giving in to the temptation of sprinting her away and have his way into her body. Opening the car's window only lessen the intensity of her scent but it did nothing to lessen its effect on him. He was burning inside out with hunger and lust.
And the intense way that the Fomorian was watching him was not helping his situation, and his gaze inadvertently caught Elisha’s as she was also watching him through the interior mirror.
He knew by the way that her eyes had widen that she can clearly see that his eyes were almost black now.
“Eyes on the road, Elisha.” He gritted out as he leaned back down on the seat and closed his eyes again.
He was out on of the car before Elisha could even park her car, walking straight for the door of her house but was cut short when the barrier that protected her home pushed him back.
Cursing under his breathe, he crossed his arms on his chest and waited for Elisha and her mate to catch up with him. “Your house didn’t recognize me anymore.”
*************
Elisha didn’t know how to respond to Thallan’s statement so she just proceeded to the door and both men just followed after her, and they went through the barrier without a hitch.
Elisha watched the two men as they both entered the foyer of her home, the same hallway that was lined with cabinet filled with multitude of dolls that was currently starting to shake and rattle their casing, announcing the entrance of strangers in her home.
Thallan looked bored and more than ready to run off while Soleil looked more amused as the dolls were shaking wildly at his entrance.
She then lead them to the living-room and just like that a sense of easiness settled over them as Thallan reclined with a relieved sigh on one of the couches that littered the spacious room while Soleil looked around in fascination.
It felt like as if a heavy blanket of unease, of anxiety and of danger was finally lifted away from both Soleil and Thallan's demeanors.
“Finally a safe place." Soleil muttered as he pulled her close to him, nuzzling her hair in his usual habit.
“What do you mean?" Elisha asked, turning around so she was facing him.
"Hmmm.. out there all of us were an easy target. A demon on Earth was nothing sort of unusual to any creature wandering about while my presence usually deterred those creatures away but both of us in the same place will attract unwanted attention from them. Many would be curious on why a demon and a Fomorian were converging in the same place.
Every day, every hour and every seconds we must alert and ready for an attack especially from that particular demon."
Elisha listened avidly, ignoring the sudden flash of the particular demon’s face on her mind as hope flared in her with the repeated use of ‘we’ by Soleil when including Thallan in his sentences. She really hope that the two of them really reached some sort of understanding between their differences and somewhat they managed to live together without her worrying of having to step between them when they decided to tear each other’s throat.
