No. I won't die like this. Soleil. Soleil. I will not die. Elisha chanted as her sight began to darken and her struggles slowed. No I won't die.
Then her world turns dark, her body running out of air but as she slowly loses her consciousness something or someone ripped the heavy weight from her body.
Precious oxygen rushed through her lungs painfully as she felt soft hands on her back and a soothing voice urging her to breathe, and she greedily breathe her life back.
"Elisha, breathe. That's it, breathe." Elisha opened her eyes and saw Karylla's worried face hovering over her.
" Karylla.." Elisha mumbled as she weakly sat up with Karylla helping her. If Karylla is here Soleil is..
And she saw Soleil fighting with Triaru with a crazed look on his face as the latter was actively defending himself from the Fomorian's onslaught.
Slash. Block.
Slash. Block.
Defense. Offense.
Charge. Retreat. Charge.
The two fought off each other with Soleil using his sword and Triaru using the same spear that he used on Thallan. Each one receiving and giving non-lethal slashes from each other and both spontaneously healed as fast as the wound appear.
"Are you alright?" Karylla asked while she systematically ran her hands all over her body until Elisha winced from a well placed probe on her side.
"Soleil." Elisha mumbled worriedly, watching her mate fighting with Triaru, and missing Karylla's question.
" He can hold himself from a fight, Elisha. " Karylla replied as she tipped Elisha's head up to assess the already darkening bruise around her throat.
"It will heal on its own but you're going to be sore for days." Karylla said more to herself than to Elisha as she began to lift the latter's blouse. Karylla hissed at the same time that Elisha whimpered in pain when they both saw the growing bruises on Elisha's stomach.
The pain drew Elisha's attention away from her mate as Karylla gently touched her side; the sound she made caught both the Soleil and Triaru's attention, momentarily stopping their fight.
Soleil's eyes darkened when he saw the bruises and began attacking Triaru vigorously; he looks more like a demon than Triaru as he fought for his mate.
Elisha caught sight of Thallan's fallen form, looking like a defeated bull on a matador's arena with spears sticking on his body.
With a horrified sob she half-hobbled, half ran to his side. "Thallan." She cried when she found him bloody and unresponsive, his eyes blank and glassy.
Elisha gripped the still embedded dagger on Thallan's side and with a pained cry she pulled it out but Thallan remains unresponsive like he was already.. Elisha shook her head to dispel the thought from her mind as she pressed her hand over Thallan's still bleeding chest.
The site where Triaru almost dug out Thallan's heart was a ghastly sight as his chest was carved open with blood oozing from the opening.
"Oh my!" Karylla whispered in shock when she saw Thallan's state, and without any word, she grasped the spear near her and with a great heave, she pulled it free from the demon's thigh. Elisha did the same until they managed to pull all of the spears out.
" Thallan. " Elisha cradled Thallan's head on her lap as Karylla began checking for any signs of life in the demon.
"I can't find his heartbeat, Elisha. I can't find any signs of life on him." Karylla said her eyes full of pity. The blood on Thallan's wounds already ceased on flowing and it only means that he either bled to death or his heart stopped pumping blood.
