RECAP:

A current flashed on my waist where my mark is, its momentary electricity disappeared as fast as it appeared but it left a sense of abandonment. Thallan just left my place, my realm, and I feel betrayed without any reason.

“Hey. Are you alright?” I flinched back when I felt someone’s hand on my shoulder and I heard whoever it was murmured a low ‘sorry’.

“Yeah.. I'm fine.. You and the rest will be fine here, right?” I blurt out in a quick succession as I snatched my jacket and keys off the rack. I need to get away as fast as I can before I explode with emotions that I could never put a name into.

“Hey.. where are you going?’ Drew asked as he jogs after me towards my car.

“I'm.. I'm going to.. grocery..” I stammered before sliding inside my car and without any more words, reeved out of the driveway and towards the road.

My mind is in jumble and my chest feels like I have a heavy lead inside as I pressed my car down on the allowed maximum speed, relying on the fact that I won’t have any head-on vehicle collision on this empty road.

Why I'm feeling this way?.. I sobbed to myself as my eyes become blurry with tears.

*************

“Thallan?! What the heck are you doing here?” I groaned inwardly when I heard the voice of the last creature that I want to see when I transported myself and Illia back on the Underworld.

The Mortal Realm was doing its greedy work of draining Illia’s power and since she has no summoner with whom she could latch on for energy, it was taking her power faster than summoned creatures were, and the rising sun makes it worst.

“None of your business, Fuxal, and what the hell are you doing in my fortress? Don’t you have a castle of your own..” I huffed on him. I need to get back to Illia soon.

I almost forgot that she once died when a warlock summoned her and kept her caged until the Sun rose; killing her in process because as a night-prowling creature, she was weak during the day and being on Earth she was drained of her power.

“Can’t I have a moment of peace? Away from the incessant complains of my minions and why did you left Elisha alone in the Mortal realm?” He persisted, following after me as I quicken my pace towards my private quarter. “Are you tired of her? If yes, I'm very much willing to fill in your spot.”

“Don’t you dare come near her or I swear I will kill you!” I snarled at him, my fangs bursting out of my gums as I bared them in warning.

“Tsk! Tsk! why leave her then?” Fuxal asked, still walking beside me and undaunted by my visible threat.

Knowing that Fuxal will never stop pestering me until he gets a viable reason to, I opened the heavy door of my room and gestured towards my bed.

“That’s my reason,” and Fuxal tentatively walked towards it, “Just look and don’t you dare touch.” I warned, following just behind him.

“Who is she?” He asked, raising a confused eyebrow in my direction.

“Illia.. She was brought back to existence.” I said softly and I wonder why he didn’t immediately recognize Illia.
