“Can you atleast filter your mouth?!” I hissed in annoyance as I trudged towards the entrance with him following after me. Men! Human or not they are really annoying in one point and another.

“What? It’s as if you’re not doing it with your.. demon..” He whispered the last word when we stepped inside the store.

There were few patrons on the store as it was too early but nevertheless eyes immediately zoomed in on Drew and I won’t blame them.

He exudes as aura of power and authority almost the same as Thallan’s except with my demon it was magnified threefold but it was more of Drew’s hulking, muscled form that attracted their shocked and curious attentions.

“Change topic please.” I pushed the shopping trolley through the shelves, ignoring the questioning look and throwing random items in.

“About the mating thing, what will happen if your mate died before you found them? Is there some kind of sign when they died before you do or will you just search for them in vain?”

“In Werewolves, if our mate died before we found each other. The living one will just continue living without knowing that their mate is already dead, there’s no sign or anything, and sadly enough we will go on searching and pining for them until our time was over. Sad isn’t it?

That’s why we’re envious of human, they can fall inlove and mate with anyone they want, and they are not slave by the Mating Bond because if our mate died after being fully mated with them, we will die a slow and painful death. Can I have this..” I look over to his direction and found him gesturing on a pack of dried jerky. “Please.” He added, throwing in a puppy-look pout which looks a bit comical on him because of his size. With a slight laugh I nodded a ‘sure’ on him.

“Die? What do you mean by that? Is it the same concept as that on literature?”

“Yeah, sort of. Sometimes stories and legends had a bit of truth in them.”

“But does it mean that Thallan and Illia were not fully mated before she died?”

“Ah.. I don’t know much about demonic thing. They are way, way different from us in a lot of ways. Who knows how mating goes with them. How did you managed to summon a demon and why?”

“It’s really an accident. I never planned on calling a demon. Heck! I never even realized that legends were true until I found one snarling at my face.” I laughed lightly as I proceed on telling him what had happened when I accidentally summoned Thallan and the shortened tale of the events that had happened after that although I excluded some parts like where the book is and of my lineage.

“Wow.. You experienced all of that. That’s plain crazy and we added more to it when we went after you.”

“You sure do. How did you and your pack found me?”

“The last message we got from Eric was when he told us that he found where the witch was and when he went missing after that, we assumed the worst. We went after him and discovered his remains in the caved-in cave, and we detected your scent but not of your demon –he and his kind rarely left any scent if they want to.

He covered his track really well and we only caught your scent when one of us went around the town, and it led us to your other house; the one that got a lot of protective charms around it.
