RECAP:

“Find him and don’t come back until you do. This is an order, Thallan.” I stated firmly, watching as a feral look crossed his face before a cold mask of indifference replaced it. I'm so sorry, Thallan.

“Of course, Mistress, as you wish.” He snapped and just like that he was gone.

You will never have him.  I curled back down on the bed, right down on the slight depression that our bodies had made on the mattress.

I'm still living a merry life long after your weak mortal body disintegrates into dust. Illia’s words continued to terrorize me until I fell on a dreamless sleep, taking comfort on the combined scents that still linger on the bedsheets.

Release him and save yourself from heartache. Soon when he found that warlock I will release him from the imaginary shackle that Illia insisted that I placed on Thallan but how could I save myself from the heartache when my heart is already breaking from our impending separation.

How?...

*************

“Thallan, what is wrong with you? You’ve been agitated for days.” Illia pulled at Thallan’s hand to attract the latter’s attention as he passed by from his restless pacing, confused at his sudden shift of behavior although she had inkling on the cause of his odd manners but want to hear it straight from him.

“Leave me be, Illia.” He rebuked as he pulled his hand back, causing Illia to withdraw in a corner hurt by her mate’s curt dismissal. He was like this for days when he went back to her after managing to sneak away from her watchful eyes.

She can easily suspect that he came back from visiting his mortal and base from his raging temperament it didn’t go well. It was a great turn of event for her if not for his short temperedness; the puny mortal had something to do with it, she was sure of it and if it continues she will get her desired prize sooner than she expected.

“I'm sorry, Thallan.” She said softly and the contrite way she spoke those words attracted Thallan’s attention. He knows that he should not lash out on his mate out of anger to Elisha but he couldn’t help it; Illia started to get persistent and clingy as days pass by.

He still couldn’t come back to her because of her command and his search for the damned warlock came out fruitless after several search attempts.

“Forgive me, Illia.” He said shortly neither giving her explanation for his behavior nor the reason of his flaring temper.

Holding his hand out to her, he pulled her up from her place on the floor and drew her close much to Illia’s delight. He became a negligent mate in the past days because of his frustration to Elisha.

If Elisha doesn’t want him why should he settle and pursue her if he has a very willing mate that will cater his every whim. Thallan thought to himself as he pulled Illia towards the direction of their massive room.

To hell with Elisha. Is his last furious thought before he slammed the door shut to  focused on his needy mate.
