All throughout my boring life it had been my one hope and dream that I'd be able to sit in a diner, having a casual conversation with the Viktor Nikiforov.

So why is it now that I'm actually sitting in a diner across from him, sipping oh so happily on my milkshake that I can barely even breathe?!

"So, Yuri. Tell me. How long have you been skating for?" He asks. I look up from my milkshake and try to calm my breathing.

Don't be nervous. He's just your coach. This is normal!

"U-uh, most of my life. Probably about twenty years, so since I was four." I respond. He raises his eyebrows and laughs a little.

"It shows." He says. I blush and look away from his face.

"I don't know if I should be offended or happy." I say, getting a tiny bit annoyed.

"I was paying you a compliment, silly." He says. My face turns a darker shade of red and I stare out the window, softly biting on my straw.

"O-okay."

After a couple of seconds of us sitting there in silence I finally gather up the courage to glance over at the place he's sitting. He's got his head rested in his hand and with his other he's playing around with his straw. I immediately feel a clenching in my chest.

Am I boring him?

"So, uh, Viktor," I say. He looks over at me and raises an eyebrow. I bite my bottom lip and look down at his hands rested on the table. "H-how long have you been skating for?"

He shows a shocked expression at my sudden effort to start up a conversation and I blush. He smiles and I look back up at his face.

"Um, I don't know.." He responds. "Probably about.. twenty five years? So since I was three." I nod my head slowly and take another sip of my milkshake.

"I guess you had to of to be able to be as amazing as you are now, huh." I say calmly, as if it were nothing. It falls silent for a minute and I realize what I just previously said. I push my back against the cushion of the booth and blush. "I mean, uh, well.. eh.." I stutter out. He stares at me for a minute and then starts to laugh.

"Thank you, Yuri. You don't have to be embarrassed, I'm glad you think that. As your coach I want you to think good things about me." He says. I squeeze my lips together and look away from him. I hear another small chuckle escape his lips and I groan.

"O-okay."

"So, tell me. That girl from Ice Castle. Do you like her?" I immediately look up at him and somewhat slam my hands on the table way louder than I had intended. My face flushes a bright red and I wave my arms around in front of my face.

"No, no, no no no! We're just really close childhood friends!" I say. He laughs and takes a sip out of his drink, staring me in the eyes.

"Sure."

"No, really, Viktor! She's married!" He shows me a confused and innocent expression and points a finger.

"Who says that has to stop you?"

I gasp. "Viktor!"

He laughs and puts down his drink. "I'm just kidding, just kidding. So then, what girl do you have your eye on?"

I groan in annoyance. "Nobody, Viktor."

"Oh, really." He says, bringing a finger up to his chin. "Then a boy, maybe?"
