"Viktor, come on." I groaned, standing inside of the skating rink, holding the door open for my stubborn coach.

"But I really want to hang out today," He says, his voice depressed. I groan in annoyance and let go of the door, then walking away from him and towards the ice.

"Okay, then hang out by yourself."

"Wait!" He calls out, then pushing through the door and running after me. I chuckle to myself at my boyfriend's behavior before getting to my locker, then taking off my shoes and lacing up my left skate.

"Ugh, you're right." Viktor sighs, then grumpily sitting down next to me and putting on his own skates. "Your next competition is in a month."

"I know, Viktor." I say, laughing. He rolls his eyes as I start lacing up my other skate.

It falls silent for a couple moments until Viktor finally breaks it.

"Last day alone together, huh?"

I blush, then finishing up my tie before biting my lip.

"Y-yeah."

"Where did they even go? That's my question." He asks.

"I have no idea." I respond.

I glance over at him and a dark blush crosses my cheeks when he sees me, then showing a teasing smile.

"Aw, that's cute. You were staring at me."

I groan and cross my arms, tapping my foot. "N-no I wasn't."

"Come on, admit it, Yuri. You adore me." Viktor says playfully, obviously joking. My heart beats faster when an idea pops into my mind.

How would he react?

I looked around to make sure nobody was around before grabbing the top of his shirt, then pulling him down to me until our faces are only inches apart, our lips almost touching.

"You're right, I guess I'm just a lovestruck little boy."

My response seems to surprise him, causing his face to fill with a bright red and his heart to thump so hard against his chest that even I can feel it between our close proximity.

"Y-y-yuri.."

"Now, let's get to practicing." I say, backing up and winking before walking away. He stays in his seat, just staring at me as I walk off and into the rink.

Oh my God.

I bring my hands up to the sides of my face and my eyes widen, but I keep walking.

That was so embarrassing!

I continue to walk with my head in my hands until I reach the opening to the rink and close my eyes, trying to clear my thoughts.

"U-um.." Viktor says, walking up from behind me. I jump and squeak a little in surprise as he starts laughing.

"Aw, that was cute." He says, still laughing. All of a sudden he cuts himself off and clears his throat, then looking down and blushing.

Why is he blushing?

Is it.. Because of what I did?

I hold back the smile that I so badly wanted to show as I stare at his bright red face. This is really cute.

"J-just skate around the rink a couple times. Get yourself warmed up." He says, clearing his throat again. I chuckle and step out onto the cool surface, then skating off. I sigh in relief at the beautiful feeling of skating again.

The sound of the blades hitting the ice, how smooth you feel when you take off. It's something I don't think I'll ever get sick of.

I skate around the rink a couple times and glance over to see Viktor staring at me, biting his lip hard. I smile lightly to myself and skate one more round before heading back to where he is.

"What next, coach?" I ask jokingly. He laughs but I can tell it's not genuine.

A hint of confusion sparks inside of me and I raise my eyebrow a little.

Okay, it was fun.. But why is he still acting up?

"Practice 'Yuri on Ice'. I wanna see you do it."

I nod and skate out to the middle, then starting when he starts my music. I skate to the routine I was taught and land most of my jumps. But what's missing? Something feels off..

"How was that?" I ask, then coming over to where he is and taking the water bottle from his hands. He clears his throat a little and glances away from my eyes.

Why won't he look at me directly?

"What is it, Viktor?" I ask, then setting the water bottle back down on the rink wall.

"N-no, nothing!" He says, laughing and waving his arms in an 'x' motion out in front of him. I squint my eyes a little at him but decide to drop the subject.

"Okay.." I say, then taking another sip.

"Anyways," he says, exhaling a large breath. "It's looking pretty good. You've got the routine. The only thing's the jumps, but something else feels off.. Although I don't know what." He says, then bringing his finger up to his chin and thinking deeply.

"I was thinking the same thing." I respond, setting my water back down. "What did it seem like?"

"Like.." He says, still thinking. "I didn't feel like I was watching you. It kind of just felt like I was watching a plain old skater."

I laugh and a light blush falls over my cheeks. "I am just a plain old skater, Viktor."

"No, you're not." He says, finally meeting my eyes. "You're different. You.. You're just so much more.. I don't know, open with your emotions. And that's what's missing. I didn't feel like it was you skating."

I think about what he said and bite my lip. How am I supposed to fix that?

"Okay.." I say.

"Um.." He starts, scratching the back of his neck. "Y-yuri.."

"Yeah?" I respond softly, glancing up and into his eyes. He has a dark crimson covering the upper part of his cheeks and nose and I can't help but just stare at the rare sight.

Except.. Today it isn't all that rare.

What have I done? I didn't realize I would have this much effect on him. He's definitely acting way different than usual.

"Viktor..?" I say, trying to catch his attention as he stares at my face.

His eyes widen in shock and he jumps back, laughing.

"I'm sorry! I-I kind of just got lost in thought."

His face becomes focused again almost immediately and I start to feel worried. I walk off the ice and go up to him, then leaning down in front of his face and touching his cheek gently with my fingers.

"What is it, Viktor?"

His eyes widen as he stares at me and jumps back, then biting his lip.

"N-no!" He says. My own eyes widen and I feel hurt overwhelm my chest. I can tell it shows on my face as well based on the look he gives me after a few seconds.

"Yuri.. I-I'm sorry, I-"

"It's okay, Viktor. Personal space, huh? I understand." I say, laughing lightly and trying to hide the hurt in my tone.

"Yuri-"

"Let's get back to practicing." I say, sealing my lips together. I walk off towards the ice and sigh when I reach the middle to run through it again.

Did I do something wrong..?
