Burr bit his lip. His mom had forced him to bring his older friend, Charles Lee, to daycare today. He didn't want his friends making fun of him, they never had before, but Aaron always seemed to be the odd one out.
"Hiya Aaron!"
"Hello Charles."

"It's Chuck!"
"Not for today it isn't." Aaron grumbled.

"Aaron! Be nice!" His mom warned.
"Sorry." He put his hand on Chuck's shoulder and lead him into the first room of the building.
"Hi Burr!" Alex was smiling at Burr from Alex's secretary desk.
"Hi Alex!" Burr answered.
"Who's you friend?" Alex gestured at Charles.

"I'm Chu-"

"Charles. This is Charles." Burr cut 'Chuck' off.
"Hi Charles! Would the two of you like to meet with Mr.Washington?" Alex offered. Alex went to pick up the bell in the corner of his desk.
"That'd be great Alex. Charles here is a one day student." Burr said. His face stone cold and his tone nothing less.

Alex rung the bell. It took a minute but the door opened and out stepped Mr.Washington. "Hello Alex. What can I-? Oh yes, Aaron and Chuck." Mr.Washington took a breath. "Don't look so alarmed boys, I'm not a stalker. I was just on the phone with Aaron's mother." Charles let out a relieved sigh. "Why don't the two of you come wait in my office until everyone is here and we can formally introduce you to the rest of the class?"
Alex watched as the two boys went into the office, and heard the familiar and meek voice of Aaron as he said "It's Charles sir. Not Chuck."

The door to the classroom opened. Two strong legs entered, carrying none other but the strong man atop them. George Washington. The classroom was errupted in cheers until he calmed them down.

"Class, we have a temporary student up here." Mr.Washington was smiling at the class, as he always was.
Peggy raised her hand and-
"Oh no!" Peggy cried out and a loud tearing sound seemed to echo throughout the class. Her yellow poofy dress had been ripped around the armpit. Tears glittered in her eyes. John Laurens jumped to his feet.

"It's okay Peggy!" He yelled, taking large strides over to her, and kneeling next to her. "My mom knows how to sew real well. She'll make it all good!" John smiled at Peggy, who's tears were clearing up. "She fixed one of my teddy be- uh- uh- Monster Trucks."
"With sewing?" Angelica asked, she raised her eyebrows skeptically.
"With sewing." John confirmed.
"She must be really good then." Peggy giggled.

"She is!" John insisted.
"John? As nice as it is for you to offer your mother's services to Peggy, I don't think that'll be necessary." Mr.Washington was smiling.

"Yeah!" Alex now was on his feet too. "Martha can fix it!"
"That soun's great!" Peggy, with assistance from John, was dancing around.
"Guys..." Mr.Washington used a warning tone with his class very rarely, but this called for desperate measures.
Aaron Burr climbed onto a chair. "Mrs.Washington can do it! She can do anything!"
"Guys."Mr. Washington said shortly.

Alex started banging his hand against the wall to a beat. "Mar tha! Mar tha! Mar tha! Mar tha!" He started chanting.
John and Aaron joined in. "Mar tha! Martha!" Aaron was jumping up and down on the chair to the rhythm.
In a matter of seconds everyone was chanting. "Mar tha! Mar tha! Mar tha!"
"Class!" Mr.Washington bellowed. The class turned dead silent. Nobody moved. Nobody breathed. Nobody made a sound. "Take a seat in a circle around me." He said every word with a sharp, distinctive tone.
Aaron climbed off the chair and sat on the ground. John sat next to Peggy, hand in hers. Every single person was sitting in a quiet circle, hardly moving.
"Now. As I was saying. We have a new, temporary student today." Mr.Washington re-announced. Peggy rose her hand, there was a large tear in her armpit, but nobody said anything. "Yes, Peggy?" He drawled, his face was tired and the message underneath his voice was harsh. Alex noted today was not a good day for Mr.Washington, he had thought so much at breakfast. The tension had been high and Martha had been withdrawn. Faraway. Distant.
"What does tempowary mean?" She asked, a concerned look flickered across her face, but then her smile came back. Her dimples making her cheeks more rounded off.
"It's not permanent."Mr.Washington said. He turned back to the rest of the class and opened his mouth, only to be interrupted by Peggy. Yet again.
"And what does that mean?"
"He won't be here very long."
"Oh."
"Anyway, please welcome, Charles Lee." Mr. Washington gestured for Charles to stand up. Charles stood and took a bow.
"Hello. I am Charles, nice to meet all of you. I'm sure you recipricate." Charles winked at Angelica, who blushed. "I'm seven, I go to St.Clark's school for the gifted, and we have today and all of next week off, so I'll be coming here regularly." He looked at Angelica again."Which won't be a problem." Alex growled, using the back of his throat. Nobody heard him.
"St.Clark's school for the gifted?" Angelica asked innocently.
"Yes, I have the mind of a nine or ten year old."
"And you're hanging out with three to five your olds?" Alex was glaring.

I JUST TYPED 'CHUCKLES CHARLED' INSTEAD OF CHARLES CHUCKLED.

Charles chuckled. "Indeed I am. It gives me an ego boost." Charles said, a fixating stare at Angelica.

John and Alex walked next to each other, heading to John's house. Hercules was skipping in front of them, his sewn potato sack seemingly flowing behind him like wings.

"I hate that guy." Alex grumbled. John nodded. "He's such a meany-poo. I can't even believe it." John nodded again. Alex made a face like he was constipated and was wearing pants too tight for him and made his voice all prestigious and snobby sounding. "Oh my 'I go to St.Clark's school for the'" His voice went dark and he squinted his eyes. "Mentally ill." Alex then eyed his friend up and down. "John? Are you listening to me?"
"No! Don't worry about it." John was staring into the distance.

"John!" Alex whined.
"I'm sure it's fine."
"John!"
John snapped his head to his friend. "What?" He looked scared.

"And did you see the way he looked at Angelica? That was a meany-poo thing to do."
"How was that a meany-poo thing to do?"
"He- uh- he was- just he Mnngh!"
John looked away again, staring into the distance. "Do you think Peggy'll get her dress fixed?"
Alex raised an eyebrow at his friend. "It really was a nice dress. I don't want her to not get it fixed."
"Yes, yes. I'm sure she will." Alex rushed out. "Now let's keep talking about my dire problem. What'll I do about this kid John?"
"I don't know. You could just wait until he leaves next week."
"Pfft. Don't be foolish John. I have to do something."

"You have all weekend to think, do something Monday."

"John! I can't wait until Monday, by Monday Angelica will be ready to up and leave to St.Clark's!"
That's when Hercules skipped over to them.
"So guys- we have a problem." Hercules looked down.

"What?" Alex spat.
"I- I peed my potato sack." Hercules blushed. The two other boy looked down, and yes indeed, there was a large wet spot on his potato sack.

Alex widened his eyes and hugged his friend. "Thank you Hercules! You gave me the best idea on how to ruin Charles!"
