"James! James! Jamesy James!" Alex sang as he snapped his fingers, he swung his arms around in a jazzy way and he skipped in a circle around his older brother.
James swiveled around as Alex moved in a circle, beginning to get dizzy. "Al?" He shuddered."I'm starting to feel like I'm in a cult."
"Colt? Why are you in a baby horse?" Alex questioned, extremely confused. "That seems kind of weird."
James chuckled. "No just, can you calm down a bit?"
"I'm just excited! You're coming to intern at my school! My schooooool!" Alex yelled as he twirled around, his arms thrown up in the air.
James put a hand on Alex's shoulder. "And if you want me to get there on time we have to leave now and you have to stop being so excited. Okay?" Alex looked away with a frown on his face."Okay?"
"Fine."
"Fine? Meaning you'll calm down and we can finally go?" James giggled, he bent down and grabbed his brother's waist, tickling him."Jaaaaaames!" Alex squealed. "Lemme go!" James pulled away with a hmmph and took Alex's hand as they began to walk to school. After a moment Alex pondered. "What's a cult?"
James stopped suddenly and looked at his brother. "Exqueeze?""You said something about a cult, not a horse but something else. Being in one. What cult are you in?" He asked.
James took a deep breath. "First of all, I'm not in a cult."
"Oh. But you said that-""I know what I said. It was just a joke." James assured him. "And well... a cult is... it's like a group of people that gather and-" James paused, unsure how to continue. He didn't want to upset Martha and George by explaining this, but it couldn't really harm him.
"Like a book group?" Alex asked.
James snorted with laughter, that was funny. "No... it's a religious group." James understood by the look in Alex's eye, that Alex no longer cared."I used to have a book group. Peggy dropped out because she can't read. Laf dropped out because he couldn't really even speak english let alone read it. Angelica went away to boarding first grade, Hercules and Eliza joined Peggy's fashion club. Burr is still in it, but the book's he picks are always boring. And lame. Not at all like the ones I pick." Alex explained.
James nodded, pretending to be interested. "What books do you pick?""Uh, short ones. 300 to 500 pages max. The Book Theif, and loads of biographies. Those are super cool." Alex exclaimed.
James was starting to see why the kids had dropped out. "Al? Have you ever stopped to think that sometimes it upsets the other kids when you choose big books like that?""Why would it?"
"Well take Peggy for example, she can barely read, let alone big books. And Hercules, he's not as smart as you. None of them are, you're basically a genius."
"Well thanks James. I guess I never thought of it that way. Maybe! Maybe now I can start my book group again. And we can call it the Colt Cult!"
