"Beep beep!" Alex ran his car around the hot wheels track, giggling with excitement. He loved playing with Burr, or rather... Burr's toys. And since Burr had just accumulated a new track, Alex got his old one. So, of course, Alex had brought it to preschool so he could play with everyone.
"Vrooom. Vroooom." Laf was particularly good at making motorcycle noises, because he rolled his rs. "Vroom vrooooooom!" Laf raced around the track with such astonishing speed.
Alex shook his head. "Laaaf! You have to stop at the stop signs! It's part of the rules!"
Laf raised his eyebrows. "I didn't think that there were rules to these toys." He muttered sassily.
"Yea? Well you were wrong! You dumbo there are rules to everything! Especially driving! You have to stop at the stop signs." Alex lectured, his arms crossed.
Laf humphed grumpily. "I'm not a dumbo!"
"Are too!"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"
"Am not!"
"Well if you weren't a dumbo you'd have known you have to stop at the stop signs!" Alex protested angrily.
"Yea!" Burr, who had been politely watching the argument unfold, sided with Alex. Because he did not want to cross Alexander Hamilton after what happened to Lee, Seabury and Eacker.
Laf shook his head. "I don't have to do anything! Especially not follow your rules!"
"You do too!" Alex yelped.
"Yea, it's his track he's in charge!"Burr helped Alex out even more in this car fight.
"It's just more fun that way!" Laf muttered, not liking the way this discussion had turned so fast into a 'yell at Laf' session.
Alex nodded, frustrated with his brother. "You could kill somebody! Or hurt somebody in the least, one of my dolls!"
"Killing people or hurting people isn't fun." Hercules said simply, shrugging his shoulders. A bit of his potato sack slipped off but he fixed his thick strap.
Burr crossed his arms like Alex. "Yea hurting somebody is the reason your parents are in jail. You don't want to join them do you?"
Alex turned to Burr with a gasp. "Oh my god! How could you say such a thing?" He exclaimed.
Laf's eyes filled with tears at the mention of his parents. "I was just-"
"I don't care what you were 'just' that was unacceptable. And... I can only think of one way to settle it." Alex spat.
Burr knew what Alex was thinking. Something that hadn't happened in quite a while. Burr's blood boiled as he thought of Alex, his first friend, his enemy wanting a duel. "Fine." He hissed in agreement. "Weehawken school playground. Ten AM. Water guns, drawn. Bring a doctor Alexander." Burr spun around and stalked off.
Alex sighed, and glanced at his crying brother. He had to do this, to protect his family. Protect his legacy.7
