John took a deep breath and knocked on the door. He was bouncing on his feet. He was back for the day to see all his friends. The door opened and a figure appeared. It wasn't Mr.Washington standing there but a man John had never seen before. The man bent down and tucked a long strand of hair behind his ear. "Hello. I'm Mr.Miranda. How can I help you?"
"I'm John Laurens and I- I am back for the day!" John said triumphantly.
"Oh of course! I've heard so much about you! Come in, come in!" Mr.Miranda ushered John into the classroom and there were shouts of joy. John saw Alex put f the corner of his eye and glared. He was very upset with him still. He hugged Laf, Hercules, Eliza and Peggy.
"Where Angelica?" He asked, pushing Alex away from him.
"She's off at boarding school!!"Eliza explained.
"I see! Does she like it there?" He struck up a conversation with Eliza, as Alex watched from the corner. Why was John ignoring him? Alex walked up to Eliza and John.
"Hi John!!" Alex exclaimed. John didn't even look at him.
"And how is Philip?" John asked Eliza.
"He's good... very good!" Alex said.
John rolled his eyes. "So...?"
"He's good." Eliza was a tad confused as to why he was ignoring Alex.
"John why are you ignoring me?"Alex finally asked after a bit.
"Do you seriously not remember?"John yelled, furious all of a sudden. Alex cowered down.
"I don't." Alex squeaked.
"You hung out with Thomas after e bullied me! You were an meaniehead! You were so rude and you blew me off the day that I was going to tell you I had to leave!" John burst inn tears and hugged Alex. "I only had you and you blew me off to hang with James and Thomas."
Alex shivered. "I'm so sorry John. I didn't know."
"I know you didn't." He pulled away from Alex and wiped his tears. "We have today. Let's make this a story we tell our children one day! Let's play!"
