She gripped his hand with all her might as her eyes took in the monsters before them. Side by side they stood, together, for this may be their last battle. He protected her. Fought for her. Sacrificed anything for her safety. But even she knew there was no getting out of this one.
She turned her head and found him already looking at her. In that moment, their eyes gave a silent exchange of words that could never be spoken aloud.
Then he smiled. Oh, that smile. That famous smile. And he whispered,
"Let's go."
Then she was running with him towards the danger. Toward adventure. But also, toward their end.
And they fought hard. He protected her as long as he could. While she sliced ankles, he would cover her. While she was running through the shadows, he would aim and kill anyone who got in her way.
They were fighting for the greater good, for the earth, for freedom, but he wasn't going to let her die today.
But the monsters kept coming and the sky broke in half. The storm raged around them and the earth broke below them. They were outnumbered. He couldnt beat this one. She couldn't keep him sane.
While she continued fighting, continued sweating blood and screaming in pain, he saw the only thing he could do.
If he threw her over the crack in the earth, she would be safe. She could run, run for her life. All he needed was a running start.
Without telling her the full plan, being cryptic and rushing his words, he demanded her to come. To stop fighting. Stop trying to win.
Like always, she listened. She got in his arms and allowed him to run. To move. To escape.
Just as he threw her across the void, in midair he fell. She landed with a thud and whipped around at his cry. And she watched him fall to his death down into the earth. It swallowed him whole, erasing him from this world. It was like he never existed at all. He is erased from this universe.
But she had to run. She had to get out. She would not let him die for nothing. So she ran. She never stopped. She made it out of the fight and watched the world burn.
And when she was finally able to stop her legs from moving, she collapsed.
And she cried. My God, she cried. She cried for the boy who never existed at all.Uhh, did this make sense.? 😮
