"Don't forget me." She begged him as the day turned to night.
The sun fell behind the clouds and sank down deeper until it completely disappeared leaving behind a dark dark sky. And still she waited. Waited for something she was never going to get.
"I won't promise you that. I can't lie to you anymore." He says painfully.
"You've done it so many times before, why can't you do it once more?" She asks him, scoffing at the end of her sentence.
He slowly takes a piece of her hair and feels it between his fingers. "I won't forget you..."

The lights were out.
The candles had been blown out.
The night was at its darkest.
And still she sat.
Her shades were open.
Her music turned up.
Her nightmares were over.
She had woken up.
No one ever knew.
No one ever saw.
No one ever mentioned it.
But it was still there.
There was nothing she could do now.
There wasn't anything he could either.
There was not a thing to be done tonight.
And so she sat there, waiting.

What do you do when you want to be alive and awake but all you feel like doing is sleeping in that cocoon of yours that you made? Your bed of blankets and pillows and teddy bears and clothes. Your room that is the only place that's safe and warm and away from everything you can do that's wrong. You want to jump off of bridges into water but all you can do is write about it. You want to fall in love and actually do something, but all you can do is imagine up stories about it. You want to run and jump and fall and scream and laugh and shout and live, but all you can do is read about it or create your own worlds.
So what do you do when you are desperate to live but all you can do is dream?

"What do you want me to say?" He shouted at her, inches away from her face.
She flinched but didn't move a step away, didn't answer him.
"What did you want from me?" He asks again, his head down but his fists clenched.
She shuddered, feeling the bruises on her body pulse and remembered the moments he gave them to her.
"I-i asked you for love," she started, begging her voice not to break. "but all you showed me was violence and heartbreak. That's what I wanted from you. Affection. Devotion."
His eyes grow dark as the emotion drifts out of him. "You should've known better than to except that from me, sweetheart."

"Hi," he whispered as she started into his eyes.
She laughed a little. "Hi," she said back, drawing out the word.
"Do you know how much I love you?" He asked her.
"Yes," she grinned, biting her bottom lip. "I love I love I love you more."
He laughed loudly and grabbed her by the sides. "Not possible."

And in the darkest night,
in the toughest storm,
in the hardest trial,
there He stood...
waiting for me to come back to Him.
