She didn't know why he left. At the time, she thought everything was fine. But when she got home and her parents were waiting for her, she knew something happened. She sat down with a guilty conscious. They were angry, madder than she's ever seen them.
He stood up in his anger and shook his finger at her. She shrunk back. In his fit, he cleared off the table, breaking everything on top of it. She just sat there, looking down in her lap, tears streaming down her face. He told her she could never see him again. And her deepest fear became a reality. Her mother tried to stop him, but she was too scared to stand up to him when he was like this. A fist and a pound and the girl was on the floor. She looked up to see him walking away, but there the clock lied next to her, broken. He broke it, like he broke everything.
