My sticks ran out... Anybody love me enough to buy me sticks and write prompts on them for me? Yeah, thought not. So I looked up writing prompts. Here's the one I'm using this time.
Your boyfriend stood you up on date night. The waitress at the restaurant keeps asking if your ready to order and you keep asking for more time, hoping he's just late. People are giving you apologetic looks and you're shrinking further down in your seat. Then, a completely random, cute guy sits down at the table and loudly says "Hey babe, I'm so sorry I'm late. I got held up at work." Then he whispers to you, " Hey, I'm Michael, just go along with it... "
"Uhhh..." I say, debating whether or not I'm okay with this new predicament. I look around the busy restaurant. Everybody is staring. I smile and allow the stranger to stay. "Alright, but maybe next time call instead of just leaving me here waiting?" I say, frustrated at Dylan for making this happen.
Michael sits back and stares at me. "So what's your name?" He asks when the other guests are back in their own world.
I laugh. This is ridiculous. "I'm Melanie. Thanks for saving my... reputation."
Michael looks to be around my age, which is a relief. He has dark brown hair that looks like he just rolled out of bed, but also cute. His eyes are a vivid blue. I have to admit, he's attractive. He's also very... oh what's the word... Charismatic. He seems like he's very popular in his group. Sure of himself.
He leans back in his chair and overlooks the menu. "Yeah, where is Mr. Charming?" He asks.
I can only assume he's talking about Dylan, my boyfriend. The no-show. "Who knows his excuse for this time?" I sigh.
The past three dates he left me hanging. At the boardwalk. At my house. And now here. He's definitely planning to dump me, just being cold before the big day I guess.
Michael glances up at me and I move my straw around and around in my glass. "You know, I don't care who you are, I don't care if your a horrible person, but no man should ever stand a girl up. Ever. He should at the very least cancel the date instead."
I laugh. "Well, he's going to be cancelling something alright."
Michael's face goes slack. "What? You think he's going to..." He trails off.
I nod my head enthusiastically. "Yes. I'm positive. I'm actually thinking about going and doing some things that would wind up in a country song to him."
Michael stares at me, slowly beginning to smile. "You mean, like, beat up his car or something?"
I smile. "Or something."
He laughs, standing up and throwing some cash on the table. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
Haha. :)

WRITERS BLOCK
AcakThis is where I will put the completely random, has nothing to do with anything stories that I create when I have writers block. I'll put out a stick (or two or three) and write based off what the stick says. Please don't judge me... :)
