So there was this prince, right?
A full on, legit, prince. With the awkward uniform from the old stories and the 'I'm so misunderstood' act going on. The floppy hair and great singing voice. The secret, adorable, make-you-sigh, talent or hobby.
A prince. A real prince.
And his name was Matteo. Then there was a knight, correct?
The real deal. The one who actually does the work, slay the dragon, comes to the rescue. The shorter, more reasonable hair. The one who keeps his guard up because he sees exactly who the prince is when the girl's backs are turned.
A knight. In armor.
And his name was Miles. They were so close, practically brothers. They grew up together, learned together, played together. I'm every memory the boys had, they were both there. Getting scolded for getting covered in mud. Jumping off the waterfall as their nurse watched in horror. Letting the royal chickens free during a banquet.
When they grew older, they were still each other's favorite company. Then the prince, foolish Prince Matteo started playing with the girls, liking the chase, liking the attention. It made Miles sick, first with envy, then just disgust. Prince Matteo was expected to be married by the end of his twenty-fifth year, and that terrified him. He spent all his time pursuing all the girls of the castle, only seeing Miles every now and then. Miles on the other hand, was busier than ever with his training. He spent all his time building himself up to be a better knight, a better man, just better. But then there was this princess.
A beautiful, smart young lady who had a passion for the arts. She didn't mind getting dirty or messing around with her friends. At a distance, she could even seem perfect.
Obviously she was going to enter the story at some point.
But a serious princess.
And her name was Ferryn. She came from a foreign land, full of wicked people, and had escaped to the royal kingdom where Miles and Matteo lived.
She was only half royal blood, and even though she was the oldest, she was not as important as her full royal blooded younger sisters. Her dark hair was frowned upon when her sisters had lighter locks. Her face was a reminder of the dark past that the royal family endured and so she spent most of her time wandering around, out of everybody's way.But she caught the eye of Prince Matteo. And Miles did not like that... In fact, he had every intent of stopping her from ever getting hurt again, especially by the prince.
So idk if I'll finish this, or if you get to decide how it ends.
