With that, she walked into the rain and didn't look back. That was the last time anyone ever saw her.

She was hurt. She grew up hurt. Not everyday. Nobody was in agony every second of their lives. She had moments of pure happiness. She had days of bliss. But her childhood ruined her. She had trust issues, family issues, relationship issues.... She didn't know when to believe someone. For a while, she ignored her problems. They were tucked away in the back of her mind. Her heart ached, but she grew used to the feeling. It was a part of her. The guys she was with were horrible. She always ended up choosing the wrong ones. They treated her horribly, but she couldn't tell. She thought that it was the way things were. That what she had was all she was going to get. So finally, when a real gentlemen wanted her, after everybody else had used her and tossed her out, she didn't believe it. It was a dare. Or a prank. He didn't know what he was getting himself into. He's pretending. So when she finally got used to him being there, when she was finally able to rely on him... she got scared.

It was a rainy week; so cloudy and foggy that you couldn't even see 10 feet in front of you. She had a breakdown that day. She was terrified, shaking and pale and crying. She had no idea what she was going to do with her life. She wanted to move, now, fast, in the moment. She wanted to get past all of the slow motion days, when she should have enjoyed every minute of them. Then, she finally was able to convince herself that it was all fake. Her life. Her family. Him.

Her breakdown scared him. He knew some of past, but only the tip of the iceberg. And sooner or later that ship was going to crash. She didn't want him to know anything else. And when he finally spoke to her after she had stopped screaming, she grew quiet. She waited until he was done, and to this day she cannot recall a thing he had said. And with that, she walked into the rain and didn't look back. That was the last time anybody ever saw her.

I said the word "finally" too much.... What's another word for "finally"? Ahhhhuuggghh
