Saturday, 31st December 2016 - New Year's Kiss

Dear Diary

When I woke up this morning, I saw that Mouse had invited Bear and I to a New Year's Party. I was pretty sure that he had not organised it himself, as he had never done or even spoken of doing that in the past.

I asked my parents if I would be able to go, and they readily agreed.

I spent most of the last day of the year doing very little. I browsed the internet and continued to read the messages which Prey and Intruder continued to send between each other.

When it was finally time for the party, Mouse came and picked up Bear and I. The three of us were driven to a large house.

It was the house of Intruder.

The large house seemed to have a very large amount of people.

For several hours, many people ate food, talked about the year gone by and the one to come. Generally, people were having a good time.

Like with all parties, Prey and Intruder continued to be very close. It was amazingly painful.

As the night wore one, more food was brought out. It was not very substantial, only being finger foods. This made sense, however, as the amount of people here was quite large.

Eventually, it was the final moments of the year. A giant television was turned on, which was going to be playing the fireworks when they started.

It was soon announced that the countdown was about to start.

We all turned our heads towards the television screen. This was the part of the night that everyday had been waiting for. The final countdown. The speakers rang with a giant

"TEN!"

Various different people tried to find the people that they wanted to spend the final seconds of the year with.

"NINE!"

EVerybody madly rushed around.

"EIGHT!"

I saw Prey find Intruder.

"SEVEN!"

They embraced.

"SIX!"

Prey whispered something into Intruder's ear.

"FIVE"

In response, Intruder face lit up with a giant smile.

"FOUR"

Prey put his hands on both sides of Intruder's face.

"THREE!"

Intruder grabbed hold of him tighter.

"TWO!"

They leaned in, going in for what could only be a kiss.

"ONE!"

Their lips locked, starting their own new year's kiss.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" the television speakers rang out, wishing everybody an excellent year while showing the fireworks which were going on.

The year had started so well for many people.

It hadn't for me.

It sucked.

I was ready to kill Intruder.
