Saturday, 4th February 2017 - Lion: Slamming the Door

Dear Diary

I woke up today feeling ever so drowsy. I can't really explain why. It wasn't exactly as if I had been doing anything that was too physically demanding for quite a while now. I didn't really have anything planned to do for today. Normally, a day for doing nothing would have filled me up with great joy. Unfortunately, now they seemed to be the only type of days that I had.

A nurse came in at around midday to see how I was going. I tried to tell her that I was fairly good. However, my answer did not appear to be enough for her, as she still checked the displays and paperwork on the wall. Satisfied with what she saw, she walked to the window.

"There's quite a nice wind passing through, would you like the window open?"

"Yes please." I said. Normally I would have left the window closed, although it was starting to get a little stuffy being stuck in the hospital room for ever. Once again, I still could not wait for the day that I would be free from it's confines. I walked over to the window so as to better feel the cool air that was rushing through it. I was glad that she had opened it, it was a very soothing change.

The nurse informed me that my lunch would be along shortly. Picking up her clipboard, she turned to walk towards the door. As she went to close the door behind her, a rather strong gust of wind burst through the door, slamming the door shut. Suddenly, I felt weak. My legs couldn't support my weight and they gave out from under me. I tried to reach out and grab something to stop myself from falling, but I was unable to. I fell to the floor with a loud crack, once again hitting my head onto the floor. In addition, I now felt dizzy and queasy.

There was something about about that slamming of the door that had really done something to me.
