Bloody Hell

Cassie walked up and down Kol's room, waiting for his arrival. She put the pieces together of what Hope told her. Somehow she must've had a thing going on with Elijah and now she was sleeping with his brother. Some terrible, disgusting triangle.

The thing is, that she didn't even remember talking to the vampire. He wasn't even her type. So tight-up and without any sense of humor. Just that facade of a oh-so-lovely nobleman.

But she was around Original vampires and she trusted them enough to not see de need of wearing or consuming vervain. Maybe she was wrong with that. All of them could just compel them to do whatever the hell they want, but a family wouldn't do that...wouldn't they?

„Sorry, darling, I got occupied with..."

When Kol entered the room, Cassie shot forward and pressed him against the wall, steaming of anger. He needed to hold back a laugh, because she looked quite cute when she was angry but he nearly choke on it when she spoke the next words.

„Who of you compelled me?"

Her small hands pressed him against the wall but he loosened her grip easily.

„I don't know what you're talking about."

The lie didn't come easy out of his mouth, but he needed to. He didn't want to see what would happen when she found out.

„Stop it! You're lying! Hope accidentally told me that I was kissing Elijah a year ago. How funny that I don't remember that happening!"

This time he couldn't talk himself out of it, but it was the worst thing to happen that she found out herself. If the compulsion was undone, she would definitely break apart. Even for her strong heart, reliving all of the misery was too much.

What was upsetting him, was that there was disappointment in her eyes. He never shamed her that deeply. Realizing that he did a terrible mistake by taking advantage of her, he tried to catch her hands but she started hitting his chest. Kol took the small pain.

„I can explain...I...I didn't wanted to hurt you...but it's...I love you!"

He admitted trying to calm her, but he made it even worse. Cassie started to yell at him.

„You? You claim to love me? Do you even know what that is? Do you know how much you disgraced me? I slept with two brothers! That's disgusting, that's what whores do! I'm not a whore anymore! And I will not accept someone in my life that treats me like one!"

They stared at each other for a long time, before she started to punch him again.

„Cassandra!"

A new voice mixed into the sobs and the yelling. The vampires instantly stopped in their tracks and saw Elijah standing in the doorframe. He seemed upset, he must've heard their conversation.

„It's my fault. I compelled you."

Cassie let go of Kol and stepped in front of his older brother, her hands clenched in fists and her eyes swimming in tears.

„Why did you do that?"

In Elijah's presence she got calmer, but she still wanted an explanation. No one would take her memories without elaborating why. For the first time in years, she felt weak. Weak in front of the people she claimed her family. She never thought about the fact that they were superior, she took it for granted that they would never use their abilities to hurt her.

„You asked me to."

Elijah looked directly in her eyes, but Cassie just shook her head.

„You're lying, you're all liars!"

She pointed at the two Originals and wanted to leave the room, but Elijah caught her arm und pulled her closer to him. His grab sent sparks down her spine. This was definitely the wrong time to get turned on by someone being rough to her.

„Listen to me, we...we loved each other for a century now. But I...I foolishly left you. Twice. This time, it was too much for you and you asked me to compel you to forget me. I granted that wish."

He lowered his head in shame. In the first place, he wanted to protect her, but he was more than wrong with his methods. He couldn't blame anyone for this, not even Kol. It was him alone that handled her hand like a meaningless toy and an apologize would never be enough. The only thing he could to right now was to offer her to re-do the compulsion.

„Cassie, I can never make up for what I did to you. But please, let me try. I can undo the compulsion if you want me to."

Again she shook her head, not knowing what to do. Her head was bursting and she was overwhelmed by the events of the last hours.

„I...I need a minute. Alone!"

She raised her voice for the last words, because both fools wanted to follow her. But she couldn't cope with any of them right now. She needed time to think and nearly ran to her old apartment.

It was dusty, dirty and it was easy to see that no one cared for it in years, but it was still the best place to find peace. She sat on her head and hugged her knees, trying to break free of the headache all of this gave her.

After some minutes, she looked around. She actually didn't even remember why she rented it in the first place and didn't know why she kept it after she moved in with the Mikaelson's.

Maybe she had memories with Elijah here. Memories he took away from her. How could he possibly have done to hurt her that much? Had she really loved him that much? She couldn't imagine that she gave her heart away like that. But the part of her that noticed something missing...like she wasn't whole...that must've been it. Everything what the compulsion erased.

Did she really wanted to get it back? When she decided to get her memories deleted, she must've had a reason to. She wasn't weak minded. She could take a lot. But this...him leaving her, must've brought her over the edge. Maybe she wouldn't find happiness anymore if she remembered. Maybe she would be broken beyond repair.

But she needed to know. She couldn't just go on, knowing that there was a part of her life that she would never remember. To never be whole.

With a determined look she stood up and wiped the tears away. For once in her life, she would be strong and brave. She would face her past and not act like some weakling. No more running away from anything.

When she arrived back at the compound, the brothers approached her quickly, wondering about her decision. Both of them wanted another answer.

Cassie completely ignored Kol and motioned for Elijah to follow her into a more private room.

„So you want to tell me that I will remember us, as an epic romance?"

The Original nodded and gave her a nervous glance. Actually he didn't know what to wish for. Cassie looked out of the window for a moment, reconsidering her decision. But in the end, she just blurted out her answer.

„Make me remember everything!"
