I got to the farm on time. All my friends were there.
"Good morning everyone." I smiled
"Morning Gwendolyn!" They replied.

I walked into the farmhouse, ready for my duties. I changed into my uniform and by the looks of it Mr Smith had a wild party.

"This is such a mess." I said to myself.
"Oh my goodness, all these dishes." I whispered.

The house was upside down but it was my duty to clean it up.

I have a friend I work with in the house. We switch duties weekly. On some weeks I do strictly cleaning while she does the laundry and washing of curtains and carpets and other weeks it's visa versa. Her name is Linda. I love Linda. She makes me laugh-A LOT. We share our deepest secrets and our pains. We both grew up orphans so we understand each other. We have laughed, fought, cried but she was the only one I had so close to me as a sister.

"Morning Gwen." She said
"What happened here last night?"
"You know Mr. Smith. He had a meeting with the Farming Council and one thing led to another. Before you know it they were partying a storm."
"Look at all my duties."
"Luckily I'm doing laundry." She said sarcastically.
"What's wrong? Too much of it?"
"Yup. And even worse. That lazy daughter of his was here. She dropped off her little ones nappies and unwashed panties from her period."
"Disgusting."
"It's what I'm paid for. Otherwise if I could I would be working in the fancy city."
She daydreamed.
"Haha snap out of it. You know we won't make it there." I laughed.
"I still believe and dream about it. Having an office job, dressing all fancy like those women we see on the television. Mhm girl!!"

We laughed and got back to work.
---------------------------------------------------------
It was almost lunchtime and I had to get the lunchtime bus. I had to get home to bath grandmama and make her mashed potatoes.

As I got off the bus to walk yet another long distance to my house, the same van I saw this morning slowed down.

"We've knocked off already have we?"
"No, I just have to quickly do something at home."
" And what's that?"
"None of your business."
"Geesh no need to be so harsh on me. I can tell you're exhausted -"
"No! I KNOW when I'm exhausted so NO!" I interrupted him.
"I won't leave you alone until you take a ride with me."

I ignored him.

"So you're going to be silent huh?" He said.
"Look here, I am almost home so leave me alone. I don't want to see you, I don't know you!"
"But I know you." He said.
"Go to hell!" I said and ran to my house.
