I woke up to an empty bed and an envelope next to my pillow. I took it and opened it. In it was a black card with a note that said "love you."
So this was rich life. We wake up to cards and notes?
I went to go take a bath. When I was done I pulled out a black dress. I was starting to look like a housewife.
I went down to the kitchen and saw Christina making breakfast.
"Morning Christina. Don't worry about breakfast. I am going out for some and picking something up for John while he's at work."
"Okay Ma'am. I will just enjoy this breakfast in my own."It looked really good. A full traditional English Breakfast. Yum.
I walked out to the garages. I felt like the Range Rover today so I asked David to get the keys so he can drive me around.
He took the car out, opened the door for me and off we went to the mall.
It felt different to walk into this place alone without John. He usually has my hand at places like this but now I'm alone. I have to learn not to look awkward and very soon! I sat down for breakfast at a Portuguese restaurant. I was alone.
Like a few others I was just here because of my rich fiancé.I decided to buy him some brunch from the restaurant. I asked them to wrap it neatly and put it in a basket with flowers and a note. Seemingly rich people live on notes.
"Thank you." I took the black card out and swiped.
I waited at the enterance of the mall and David pulled up, opened and closed the door for me and we left for Smith Towers.
When we arrived at Smith Towers David stopped at the entrance with the Range Rover. I saw Chantel look out the glass doors confused. David opened my door and I walked out. Chantel's jaw dropped. As if she was the only one shocked, Charlotte showed up just in time to see this.
"Thank you, David. I will phone as soon as I am done." I smiled.
David is such a sweetheart.Smith Towers glass doors opened and Chantel struggled to find the words.
"Good morning Chantel." I smiled.
"Uhm. Hi Ms.Palmer."
"Anything the matter?"
No. Nothing at all...just...just..."
"Just what?"
"I saw Mr. Smith in the office today but I'm confused as to how you're the one getting out of his car."
"Don't worry, Chantel. Late meetings happen remember?" I lied to her.Poor Chantel. She looked down at the monitor and continued typing out documents. Always minding her own business as usual.
I walked up to John's office.
"Knock knock, guess who?" I chuckled.
"The most beautiful girl in the world." He smiled and walked to me.
We kissed.
"I thought you might have skipped breakfast so I brought you some right now."
"Thanks baby. It's like you know what I need before I ask." he went back to his seat.
"We haven't even carried out vows but I know what your heart needs and when."There were two knocks on the door and entering before the word "come in." It was Charlotte.
"John..." she gave him a seductive look.
"It's been a while since we've had time to talk and have the office to ourselves." she walked to him and sat on his desk, revealing her thighs and cleavage directly to him. I stood there watching how he couldn't keep his eyes of her body no matter how much he tried. He was swallowing his spit and she was putting him on the spot.I cleared my throat " I should probably leave, John."
Just as I was about to walk out, Charlotte started again.
"Oh don't worry Gwen. This is how it goes between me and this bachelor here. Everyone knows that."
"Glad to know." I said coldly. That was it? He didn't defend himself nothing?
Just as I was about to leave Smith Towers, John followed me. We were infront of reception.
"Look, this is why we have to tell people about us. Charlotte is a problem."
"A problem YOU can solve. She doesn't know her place and you're so taken by her breasts and thighs!" I walked away from him. He didn't run after me.Instead, Charlotte followed me outside to the entrance.
"Gwen. This guy will break you, don't fall for him. See how easy it was for me to just get him turned on enough to want me? It's nothing new. Stay away from this sugar dad of yours."
"You mean stay away from my fiancé?" The Rover pulled up and I flashed my ring at Charlotte with a wink.I stepped in and left her hanging with her jaw dropped.
