I wore the dress the next morning. I was making breakfast when Bandz walked in.

I heard his footsteps slow down.

"Morning baby." I turned to look at him. He didn't seem pleased.

"Where'd you get that dress?"
"Oh, you like it ,baby? It's cute right?"
"Gwen, where did you get that dress?"
I frowned. "My boss bought it for me. We have a meeting out of town this morning and I need to represent the company as an assistant. So I had to wear something different"
"And he told you that's decent?"
"Baby it's a beautiful dress! I have to wear it. If I could I would wear slippers."

My grandmother heard the shouting
"What is going on?" She walked in slowly.
"Nothing grandmama."
"It's a lovely dress you got on there, sweetie."
"Thank you grandma, now please tell that to Bandz."
"You must be making a lot of money wearing a dress like that."
"Uhm...actually, grandmama..." I scratched my head and cleared my throat.
"It's that devil ain't it?"
"Grandmama?"
"That Mr. Smith you work for. I've heard about him. My child, play far away from him."
"Don't worry about it grandmama."
"You sure?"
"Yeah...I love you. Breakfast is on the table, I have to go."

Bandz left for the car. He didn't open the door for me today. Infact, there was awkward silence on the road to the city. He had an off day today.

"Bandz?"
He just looked at me.
"I love you."
"Yeah." He replied.
I closed the door and he drove off.

Just as I arrived at the door of Smith Towers, John was waiting.

"Why the glum face, beautiful?"
"Oh its nothing." I sighed.
"We should probably head for the airport. I will make you feel better."
A Rolls Royce drove and parked infront of us. The chauffeur opened the door and let me in first. John followed.

We arrived at the airport. It was so big, beautiful and busy! John took me to his private jet and we settled in. It was amazing! I enjoyed watching the view from the top. It relieved all my stress.

We arrived for the meeting. We went to another company which looked similar to Smith Towers. It was just as big and beautiful. We received special treatment and were ushered into the boardroom. There was a place reserved for John and I.

He was meeting all these important people. I overheard his conversation with one of the men.

"Where'd you get this one, John?"
"Oh, I had to dig deeper than I thought to find her."
"Keep her. She's stunning."
"Haha will do."

I pretended not to hear how that conversation went. John and I made eye contact and it hit me so deep. There was something about him.

The meeting began, I sat taking minutes and providing John with his papers. It was a very important meeting and ended off successfully. John sealed the deal.

At the end of the meeting he greeted all these important men and some were women. They were inspiring me to grow in business.

When we walked out of the Towers it was night time.

"Oh dear." I panicked.
"What's wrong?"
"I didn't think the meeting would take so long, Bandz is going to kill me." I sobbed.
"Relax. Just call him and tell him it went on longer than you thought."
"I don't have a phone." I sobbed.
"Here, use mine. Call the house and tell him you're safe and your meeting took long."
"Thank you." I sniffed.

I dialed the house line but nobody answered. I dialed again but still nothing. I think grandmama was fast asleep . I don't know where Bandz was but he was going to kill me the next day.

"Did you reach him?"
"No. Look I've had a long day, let's just go back."
"Gwen, are you okay?"
"I'm alright."
"Let's just grab a drink before I take you back."

I should have said no but deep down I knew I was in pain from this morning and needed to be out. So I did just that.
