Part 44 - John Henry's confrontation

I drove to the mansion with a wet face. I was so heartbroken. I couldn't wait to get home to my fiancé. Maybe it's time I made love to him. What's the use? Bandz has moved on.

I walked into the mansion and found him on the couch sipping on scotch.

"Where have you been?" he asked.
"I went out to the...Country Club."
"Oh." he said sarcastically.
"Yeah. I just want to go shower and rest."
"Not so fast."
"Excuse me."
"You're driving."
"Oh yeah." I scratched my head.
"Who taught you." he asked.
"Excuse me?"
"Who taught you how to drive."
"Nobody important, John."
"It's him,isn't it?"
I looked up at him.

"It's that boy isn't it ,Gwen?" He stood up, put his glass down and walked to me.

His big body overshadowing me and he grabbed my arm tightly.

"J-John, you're hurting me."
"I don't care if I'm hurting you. I do everything for you and you still run to him?"
"John, please. I'm begging you."

Anne walked in just on time.

"My babies. How lovely to see you. Let me not disturb you."

John loosened his grip and let me go.

I quickly ran upstairs and shut the door of our bedroom.

He walked in and I jumped.

"Gwen. I'm sorry." he sighed.
"I didn't mean to hurt you. I really didn't."
I said nothing to him.
He sat down next to me on the bed.

"I need the truth Gwen. Are you still in love with him?"
I looked down. " I thought I was but he's moved on now. He's seeing Linda and from what I make out, they are really happy."
"How do you know they are happy?"
"He stood up for her. He literally defended her,  John. He was there for her."
"I see." he nodded.
"So why should I fight a losing battle? I have nobody else but you, John." I began crying into his arms.
"I'm here for you baby. I don't want you to force yourself into things but clearly this was meant to be. I love you."

We didn't make love. I decided to stick to my agreement of after marriage. That night, he didn't hurt me. He actually understood me.
