ODETTE'S POV

It's been a month since we left Philippines. And yes, hindi manlang ako nakapag-paalam kay Vince. I was confined for 3 days, tapos on the third day, nung akala ko uuwi na kami, didiretso na pala kami ng Japan. Dito na din kami nag-Christmas at New Year.

Nasabing lumalaki na daw yung butas sa puso ko. Meron pala akong Atrial Septal Defect. Small ASD lang ang meron ako. Hindi naman daw masama ang Small ASD, in fact, hindi ito nakamamatay. Pero lumalaki daw yung akin. At kailangan ng maagapan dahil anytime, I might got stroke.

Kaya eto, pumunta kaming Japan para magpa-opera. I was so sad. Hindi ko ma-contact si Vince. Ayaw kasi akong pahawakin ng cellphone ni Lance. Oo, kasama ko si Lance. Dito kami sa bahay nila Tita Yanny nagi-stay.

Last week lang ako inoperahan. And obviously, buhay pa ko. Success naman ang operation. Ok na ang puso ko though medyo weak pa din sya. Pero ok na din.

Kami ni Lance ang andito. Ayaw nya kong iwan eh. Sabi din kasi ng doctor, kung pwede mag-drop muna ko sa school, I need to rest for a half a year. Kaya eto. Pati si Lance nga nag-drop eh.

"Odette, are you stressing yourself again? Your heart condition is not yet improving. It's still weak." sabi nung doctor sakin.

"Sorry, doc. I guess I'm just stressed. Or maybe I'm thinking a lot of things?" I answered.

"Just clear your mind. Your heart might be stressed as well. Just calm yourself, ok? If your heart doesn't improve for the next months, you might need to undergo another operation. And you might stay here in Japan for a year." he said.

"Yes, doc. I will definitely rest my heart." I answered.

"Ok ok. Lance, don't forget her medicines. She should drink them on time." doctor Takazu reminded Lance.

"Yes. Doc." he answered.

Pag uwi namin sa bahay nila Tita Yanny, sinalubong agad ako ni Yuki.

"Yuki! How's your day at school?" I asked.

"It's good Mommy Maria!" he cheerfully answered and hugged me.
