The next day was just as awful as the first.
Evelyn woke up to Michael's nonstop washing of his hands.
The first time she heard the water and incessant scrubbing, she simply flipped over and buried her head in the pillow.
Maybe he will stop this time.
Of course, he doesn't.
Every few minutes he'd turn on the water and spend a good five minutes scrubbing off nonexistent dirt. After the fourth time, she gave up and got ready for school.
My fault for being a light sleeper.
"Is Calum coming to pick us up again?" She asked as she scooped up spoonfuls from the bowl of cereal he made her again. Michael glanced at it, sighing as he knew just like the past 4 years, he'd be making her breakfast.
Michael shook his head, leaving Evelyn confused. "You are driving us," he said, knowing he was crossing the line. They did this every time Calum or Ashton didn't come.
She gave him a disapproving look as she crossed her arms. "You know I don't drive." He began to protest as she refused to give into him.
She had a driver's license, she just didn't drive. She couldn't. Evelyn didn't know if it was merely psychological, but she couldn't.
She reached into one of the wooden drawers and tossed Michael the keys to her car. Michael smiled smugly, knowing he got exactly what he wanted. To drive Evelyn's fancy car.
They got in the car as she began to pick a fight with Michael about some unknown thing. She didn't really have a purpose to the fight, but she knew it would be a good payback for using her car.
Then, she got her classes for the Day B. Of course, there were the normal classes, the educational ones. Unfortunately, she managed to get Luke in English as well.
Evelyn was currently on her way to fencing.
A curious extracurricular to choose, for sure. But she absolutely loved it. She loved knowing how to defend herself since that obviously came with fencing. She was sure that even if Puke was in this class, she'd still enjoy it with her whole heart.
That claim was about to be tested when the tall blond walked in, his bag slung over his shoulder as he stayed looking down at the phone. She groaned as she put her face in her hands. She was never going to get a break, was she.
Luke looked up at her before rolling his eyes and looking back down at his phone. He put his bag on the grassy floor before putting his phone away in his back pocket, turning his attention to the coach.
"Good morning class, I'm Coach Tina," the tall teacher said as she put down her clipboard.
"Instead of introductions to the unit, we are going to split into two groups. If you are an experienced fencer, stand to my left," Coach Tina said as she pointed towards that area. "If you are new to this stand to my right."
Luke and Evelyn both went to the experienced area as Luke scoffed, "You. Athletically capable? I doubt it."
She turned her nose up as she curled her top lip up, "Look who's talking. You're lanky and about the size of a stick."
He scoffed, bringing both hands in front of him as flexing, making his broad shoulders even larger.
She looked at his arms confused. When did he gain that muscle?
She figured he must've worked out over the summer.
A girl walked by as Luke winked at her, the girl giggling. Evelyn scoffed at the boy's actions; the girl clearly was one of those girls who fell for Luke's charm too easily. In fact, it was as if everyone did, except her.
