Days passed after Evelyn slept over. They had been spending so much time together, considering the fact that they were training for their big fight in January. It was, of course, stressful.

Evelyn recounted the many different moments during their training.

"Luke! Hit the gear, not my FACE!"

She rolled her eyes at that thought, swinging her locker shut and shuffling her books in her hands. Her stride was small as she made her way to math class.

"Not another mile Eve, please."

The girl ignored Luke, continuing to push for another lap, "Don't be a baby Luke."

Okay. That one made her giggle.

The amount they had been training at school during

Evelyn reached her class to see Luke already sitting in his proper seat behind her. He was laughing at something the person next to him had said, his white teeth shimmering against the fake LED light. The sound of his laugh bounced off the walls, a hint of a smile on her own face.

Luke's eyes glanced over to the girl, a smirk playing on his face as he leaned forward in his seat, his eyes following her. She meekly made her way to her seat, sitting down and turning to face Luke.

"Hi Luke."

If even possible, he leaned closer, "Hey Eve."

Mr. Hallberg cleared his throat, tapping his yardstick in his hand to get the class's attention. They looked to him, awaiting his instruction.

"Today, you will get into partnerships. We have a project due next week, and I want you guys to start working on it."

The old man continued lecturing as Evelyn let her thoughts trail off. A partnership.

Suddenly, she felt a hand gently placed on the back of her neck. Luke's thumb reached across her chin, turning her head to face sideways to him.

"You're mine, right?" Her heart dropped to her stomach at those words.

Luke cleared his throat, "My partner. You're going to my partner, yes?"

She didn't know why, but disappointment spread in her face. Right. He had meant for the project. She couldn't help but begin to imagine what it would be like to be his. To be his girlfriend.

A hand waved in her face, snapping her out of her thoughts. Mentally, she slapped herself to get it together.

"What are you thinking about Eve?"

Luke bit his lip ring, smiling at the girl. He knew that it was him, easily. She always had this specific facial expression when it was him she was thinking about: it usually involved a tint of blush and her lips parted.

She probably day dreams about kissing me.

Wow. I sound cocky.

"I- Nothing. Yes I'll be your partner."

They began to finish up the rest of the arrangements for the project, deciding what it would be on and when they would work.

"Is tomorrow after school good?" She asked, "It is Friday, so we could work and then head to our Fun Friday's dinner as usual."

He stood up, beginning to pack his bag as the bell rang. He paused for a moment to lean over the still sitting girl.

"Sounds good. We can have," he leaned even closer, her perfume filling his senses, "So much time together."
