"No!" Evelyn shrieked, running as fast she possibly could.

"Get over here!" Ashton screamed, running after the girl with a paint brush in hand.

Evelyn had decided to paint over a good portion of her wall with black- well, the part of the wall that she had painted in her time with Patrick. It was clearly charged with bad emotions and she wanted nothing to do w him.

"Ashton stop torturing my girl," Luke walked in the room, pulling Evelyn aside and out of Ashton's way. He groaned, his hand dropping to the side with the paint brush in hand.

Luke tilted her chin back to meet her eyes, "Only I get to do that."

Her eyes widened, knowing exactly what he was referencing. Evelyn's face reddened at the suggestion.

My girl. He had said those words so smoothly, so casually as though it were nothing. To her, of course, they were so much more than just words. Her chest swelled at the idea of him calling her that, of him marking her as his.

Not that I am an object.

Of course not, you're just a slut for Luk-

"Guys," Ashton whined, both of them turning their attention to the childish boy. His face was scrunched in annoyance, "Can you guys stop eye fucking around me please?"

Luke chuckled, tilting his head back with the laughter before lifting his hands in surrender. He pulled away from the girl and went back away.

Then he remembered why he even came, "Oh Ashton, we want to rehearse that new song. Come down with us."

Ashton checked over to Evelyn, who waved the boy away. They had almost finished painting over what Patrick had done anyways, it wouldn't take more than a few minutes for her to finish.

He smiled and walked up, Luke walking out after the girl.

"You're soft for her aren't you."

Ashton heard no verbal response, only a punch on his arm that left his nerves to spazz and writhe. He yelled at the impact of Luke's hand.

"I am not soft."

Ashton teased, making sure to remain out of arm's reach, "Yes you are."

When Luke launched at the boy, he ran, darting down to the basement.

Evelyn chuckled and returned her attention to the wall in front of her and began to paint large strokes of black, letting her mind drift to other thoughts.

The boys were downstairs, practicing some of their songs for an upcoming gig they had. It was a small town they lived in, but a bar was offering to have them as entertainment. They were really excited, practicing some covers but also some original music.

Just then, her phone vibrated.

Luke: Come down baby. I got something I want to show you.

Her chest swelled as she eagerly ran down the hall and the stairs to the basement. She tried to act casual, walking in the room.

"I'm here, what's up?"

Calum looked over to her confused, "Nobody called you here though?"

Shit. She backtracked nervously as Ashton stepped in, "Actually I did. I wanted to show her the song we were doing."

Calum nodded with an ah sound coming out of his mouth. He looked back to his guitar as they got ready.

Ashton tapped his drumsticks, "And a 5,6,7,8."
