Soon the first week of school ended.
Evelyn just finished her art class and was waiting at Calum's locker so he could take Michael and her home. She leaned against the cool metal and she scrolled through Twitter.
She held back a laugh at some of the ridiculous tweets in front of her.
God, it's better to not say anything and be thought an idiot than speak and remove all doubt.
She loved everything about art class. Today she sketched out the beginning of a painting.
She painted a sunset but with a twist; the birds she painted were all in a pack, a V formation. Except one of them. That other bird, that small line, was going in a completely different direction.
She had no clue where she got the idea from. She just let her mind take over.
In her opinion it was beautiful, poetic in a tragic way. Evelyn knew it would be even more beautiful when she added all the colors.
She could see all the colors now. The blood reds, the bright yellows, and the oranges that would settle in the middle. The deep, rich purples that would overtake anything put before it.
Everything about this painting called to her.
Ashton, of course, the foolish oaf he is, decided to paint a cow with a dunce cap on it.
Evelyn laughed at the thought of the boy. He was so mature sometimes and so stupid at other times. How mature is someone, really, if their idea of a painting is a cow with a comical prop like a dunce cap.
Soon enough Calum came and smiled brightly at her, grabbing his stuff before shoving them in his backpack.
He smiled at the beautiful girl, loving how she smiled back and began to talk his ear off about little nonsense. She was a talkative one, and although many found it annoying, he found it cute.
Michael came up behind him as they all walked to the car. It was certainly an eye sore, the yellow amongst all the whites and blacks.
Calum had no clue what his father was thinking, buying a yellow hummer. But regardless, it brought many memories with it, many drunken nights.
The three got in the car, Calum finally allowing Michael to sit in the front. Unfortunately for Calum, Michael decided to organize the papers that were shoved in the compartment.
"How do you deal with this boy?" Calum groaned, asking Evelyn who just smiled.
"He cleans my room about twice a week, so I'm dealing well," Evelyn laughed as Michael found a box of condoms in the front.
"Hey! Give that back!" Calum tried to grab them from Michael but found it difficult to do while driving. Michael tossed them to Evelyn who examined the box carefully.
X-Large. How interesting.
"Planning on getting lucky boy?" Calum rolled his eyes at Michael's words and turned a deep shade of red, a color not as noticable on his tan skin compared to how noticable it was on Michael's, or Evelyn's.
Finally the pair quit fooling around and gave him back the box. Michael had this smirk he couldn't wipe off of his face the whole ride back to their house.
"So we are meeting at The Fleet at around," he checked his watch before looking back up to Evelyn and Michael, "7 pm. Good?"
Evelyn chuckled, "I don't know why you check. It's just like every other Friday Calum. We know," she leaned to the front of the car and kissed him on the cheek before opening the door and closing it behind her. "Bye Calum, see you at 7."
