Luke: Where's Michael?
Evelyn paused the stirring of her bowl. She was attempting to make dinner, for once for her family.
Taking off a separate pot from the stove, she wiped her hands on the apron before picking up her phone.
She slid the lock over and typed.
Evelyn: At Hailey's.
Luke: And your dad?
Evelyn: At work.
Luke: On a weekend?
Evelyn: He has a meeting.
With that, she received no answer. She thought about how weird he was, but shrugged it off as to his part of his personality.
Finally, she finished the food she was making, putting it in a pot and covering it with a lid. The aromas filled throughout the kitchen as she took a deep breath in, satisfied at how good it smelled.
Whether or not it tasted well was completely up for argument.
Evelyn thought about a couple days ago- when her mother was there. She did not go back to her home until her mom left. Despite the incessant calling from her entire family, she did not go back.
Her mind enveloped with the idea of her family. Her dad was almost done settling the divorce, and then, she would never have to see her again.
Just then, a knocking broke the silence of the house.
Her eyebrows scrunched. It was far too late for anyone to be knocking. She curiously peeped in the peephole, the patio too dark for her to really see.
Though her dad would probably reprimand her for this, Evelyn just opened the door. She figured her area was safe enough that it didn't matter.
In front of her was the sight of her boyfriend, his tall and lean body hovering in front of the door frame. The all black outfit filled her view as she scanned over it.
"Luke! What are y-"
She was cut off with his lips pressed to hers, holding her face with large hands. It took a few seconds for her to actually register that he was kissing her.
Evelyn gripped his shirt with her hands, moving back into the house to keep up as he quickly stepped forward.
He moved his mouth against hers, his heavy breathing not going unnoticed. He paused for a moment, keeping his top lip above hers and his bottom lip the same as he fumbled to kick the door shut.
Evelyn pushed him against the wall for a moment to lock the door as he chuckled at the movement, albeit slightly weak.
"Hi princess," he mumbled against her skin, wasting no time to pick her up and wrap her legs around his waist.
With large strides he moved onto the couch, not breaking the kiss while placing her down. Her back hit the cushion under her.
"Hi Luke," she softly bit her lip as he began to tease the shell of her ear with light kisses.
His hand fitted the back of her thigh, trailing down and gripping the skin with the pads of his fingers. Luke deepened the kiss, slipping his tongue against hers.
