October 21th / Wednesday

"All right, class! We are done for today." Ms. Parker, my English literature teacher says as she leaves the marker next to the white board and sits behind her desk. When the classroom instantly fills up with noise, she looks around and clears her throat. "I need you to be quiet for a minute, because I have an important announcement to make." She waits a few seconds until everybody calm down and the room is quiet again. "So, as you all know Halloween is next week and I know how excited you are. That's why I've talked to the principal and the some other teachers and we decided to make a school party, but only for the seniors. There will be music, candy, dancing and a costume contest with an amazing prize at the end of the night." Everybody cheers loudly and she raises her voice a little. "Wait! I'm not finished!" She smiles. "If we, the teachers, are pleased with your behavior, there will be even bigger surprise next month." The last bell rings and everybody stands up. "And do not forget to leave your essays on my desk on your way out. Have a nice day!" She puts her glasses on and starts writing something. I decide to wait for a few minutes for the others to leave and then approach her desk.

"Ummm... Ms. Parker, I just wa... wanted to apologize for not bringing the assigned paper for today. I know that it was for today, but I just couldn't think of an... anything to write a... about. I wa... wanted to know what are the co... consequences." I stutter and she looks at me, putting her glasses back on the desk.

"Liza, you are my best student, but I can't hide the fact that I am a little disappointed. But since this is your first time ever not doing an assignment, there will be no consequences." When I see her smiling it's like a huge pile of rocks have been lifted from my chest and I can breathe freely again. "You just have a writer's block, but don't worry. I'll give you time till Monday to write it, okay? And I hope it's as good as the last one." She puts back her glasses and I sigh with relief.

"Thank you so much, Ms. Parker! I promise that it will never happen again! Have a great day!"

I quickly leave the classroom before she can change her mind and go to straight my locker. When I open it to put my textbooks in, I get a text. I close the locker and take out my phone.

"I'm at the parking lot. Can't wait to see you."

I smile and start walking down the hall. As I step outside the school, I feel the phone buzzing again in the front pocket of my jeans. I take it out, already knowing it's another message from David. But when I open it I immediately realize that I couldn't be more wrong. There are just four words written on the screen, but they sure are hard and painful to read.

"You are a slut!"

My smile quickly fades away and I feel my eyes tearing up. It's from a random number, so it can be from practically anybody. But why would someone send such an offensive, disgusting message? If I remember correctly I haven't been in a conflict since kindergarten when Billy Green threw a worm in my hair and I put one in his sandwich. My mom was so disappointed and ashamed of me that I promised myself that I will never make her feel this way. And till this very day, I'm keeping my promise. I'm not a person with a lot of friends and acquaintances, but I'm trying to be nice and friendly with everyone else outside my "friend circle". It's probably just a mistake and it's not meant for me at all or some kid is playing a prank. But there is still the chance that the text is indeed for me.

I take a deep breath to calm down, deciding to delete it from my phone and from my memory. After wiping the tears from my cheeks I look around and spot David leaning on his car at the parking lot. I shake my head, chasing the bad thoughts away and start walking towards him again. As I come closer to him, he spreads his arms open for a hug and a little smile appears on my face again when I'm engulfed by his cinnamon scent. If I felt scared and vulnerable just a minute ago, now with just one simple gesture such as a hug David managed to made me feel safe and relaxed.

"I didn't know you liked school so much." He kisses my forehead after I give him a confused look. "Look around you, princess." I do as he say and realize that we are the only ones left in the whole school.

"Am I that late?" I apologetically glance back at him and he nods. "Actually, this is all your fault." He raises his eyebrows. "Yes it is and do you want to know whu? Because of you yesterday I didn't have the time to write my paper for today's English class and I had to talk to Ms. Parker after the last period." He makes a guilty face and I decide to torture him a little longer. "But the good news is that she gave me time till Monday to do it. And the bad news is that you have to think of an awesome way to make it up to me." At that he gives me a smug smirk, which tells me that I'm in trouble.

"A thing or two just popped in my mind. And I think you will be quite satisfied with the options I came up with." He says, leaning closer and gently placing a kiss on my lips then slowly pulling away.

"Do you really think that you can get away with just one kiss?" I frown, shaking my head disapprovingly.

"Who says that it's going to be just one kiss?" His hands snake around my waist, pushing me back until my back hits the car door. When his fingers run through my hair, I can almost feel how my bloods starts boiling, how the shivers down my spine make every hair on my body get up.

Then David starts leaning painfully slowly, looking straight into my eyes. As our lips touch, his grip around me quickly tightens, pressing his body to mine. He pulls away for a second and starts kissing my neck, leaving me out of breath. And right when he is about to get to that weak spot between my collarbone and my neck, he suddenly stops. He takes a step or two backwards, a perky smile plastered on his cute face, which I really want to erase with a slap. Or a punch, I haven't decided yet.

"Oh, no you didn't!" I gasp and he nods in reply, still smiling. "You are so going to regret this someday!"

"Bring it on, princess!" I make a step forward so we are face to face, the tips our noses touching.

"Just wait and see." I whisper.
