December 4th, 2015 / Friday

"We haven't had enough time, dad!" I say, hugging tightly my father in attempt to hide my teary eyes. He and my mom are going to another convention across the country, but they've promised to be back before Christmas. I really hope they make it on time, because I don't want to be all by myself in the house over the holidays. "Call me when you get off the plane and please be sure that mom gets me a souvenir, ok?" I wipe the tears, rolling down my cheeks and force a smile on my face. "I'm going to miss you so much!"

"I'll miss you too, kiddo! Behave, do your homeworks, eat properly and always lock the front door. You know - the usual stuff. And call us whenever you want!" He kisses my forehead and gets into the waiting taxi.

My parents wave at me as the car drives off down the street, making the lump in my throat even bigger than it already is. I let out a loud sigh, watching them till the taxi makes a right turn, disappearing from my sight, then I move my eyes to my left. The perfect white-picked fence, surrounded by a big front yard, my mom's little rose garden under the two tall pine trees, the light beige two-story house with wide windows and small porch. This almost heavenly picture I'm used to see every day for years, suddenly seems strangely unfamiliar. Every time my parents are away the house becomes this cold, empty place that I don't recognize as home, but as somewhere I just sleep at night and store my belongings. I may enjoy spending time alone, but I most certainly don't enjoy being lonely for almost a month.

The sound of a car, parking behind me snaps me out of my dark thoughts and I take a look around. I must have been standing here for a long time, because the sun is already starting to set. A pair of big, warm hands snake around my waist, pulling me close to a firm chest.

"Are you ok, princess?" David says quietly, kissing my hair.

"Yeah, I'm a little better now that you are here." I wipe the last tear and take a deep breath then exhale it slowly. "Wait! Were you waiting for my parents to leave, so you can come to me?"

"Mhmmm. I was parked a few houses down the street. Did you know that there are like 20 cats in the grey house over there. It stinks all the way to the sidewalk!" He waves his hand in front of his wrinkled nose, a disgusted expression appearing on his face.

"It's more like 40. But Mrs. Hildenbrant is a very sweet old lady, who lives all alone, so don't be harsh. Anyway..." I turn around and wrap my hands around his neck. "You know they like you, right?!You should've come and say "Hi". Or maybe "Bye"? I don't know, say something. My parents don't bite!" He sigs and pulls me closer.

"I know. Although, your father once implied he knows how to shoot a gun, so I thought I can give you some privacy." He says and I roll my eyes. Way to go, dad! "And speaking of privacy... Are you hungry?" With a wide grin, he lowers his head and his minty breath brushes against my skin, sending chills down my back. "I know I am." He murmurs before kissing the crook of my neck and I bite my lip, surpressing the upcoming giggle.

"If by that you mean "Let's order pizza and watch a movie", then I'm willing to say yes."

"You may put it that way." He chuckles, kissing me again.

3 hours, a large pepperoni pizza, 2 bags of chips, a big bowl of popcorn and a carton of orange juice later, David and I are laying on my bed, watching a second action movie. I look over the empty dishes on the floor and can't help but wonder how did we managed to eat so much food in so little time. And how could I be so tired after doing nothing but eating? After doing homework or exercises, sure, but after eating?! I feel my eyes getting heavier and I shift a little closer, resting my head on David's chest. His body tenses for a second and his heartbeat fasteners just a little bit, but it's enough to put a smile on my face. I really enjoy the influence I have on him. His hands slowly slide up and down my back, which makes falling asleep even more easy.

"Princess, you are not making this cuddling stuff easy for me when your body is so close to mine." He whispers and I shoot my head up, glancing at him. He has a playful grin placed on his face and an impish glow in his eyes, which somehow is making them even more darker. No, scratch that, a lustful glow. And just like that, my sleepiness is gone.

"Oh, really?! So what are you going to do about it, David?" I intentionally emphasize on his name and the glow instantly becomes an uncontrollable fire. Did I just said that? Oh, hello embarrassment, my old friend! We haven't seen each other in a while!

"You know, if you play with fire you'll get burnt..." With one quick movement, David drops the laptop on the ground and gets on top of me, his face so close that I can sense the sweetness in his breath. Orange juice. "... eventually!" His thumb traces the outlines of my lips, then my jawline down to my neck and collarbone. Then he ducks his head down where his fingers just left my skin and he kisses. And bites. And sucks. I bite my bottom lip, but that doesn't stop the soft moan from escaping. I know David is smiling, because his hands snakes around me in a tight grip. The touch of his burning hot tongue sliding painfully slowly up to my jawline makes me lightheaded, gasping for oxygen. It's like the time had stopped, so we can enjoy that intimate moment without anything distracting us.

"I told you I was hungry." His voice sounds husky, before he roughly kisses my lips. My mind goes blank as I bury my hands in his hair.

"What was that?" He sits up, looking around the dark room, his body suddenly stiffens. Speaking of distractions...

"Huh?" I look at him, still feeling disoriented from the kiss.

"Liza, please don't freak out, but I think that someone is inside the house." He whispers, now looking at me.

When someone says to you to not freak out the only reasonable thing you could do is to freak out of course. My eyes widen as I try to sit up too, but he slowly shakes his head and takes my hand. Yeah, that will calm me down, smart pants! We remain frozen and silent for a while.

"David?" I quietly whisper. The sudden sound of shattering glass fills up the night and makes me jump, grabbing his arm. Thank God, he's here! At least I'm not going to die alone. I'm selfish somethimes, I know. "W... What was that?" Another shattered glass downstairs, followed by the sound of a car's engine roaring outside and another scared jump in David's arms.

"I think they are gone!" He says, standing up. What the hell?! They? "Come on!"

Despite my hesitation, he pulls me up from the bed and we carefully make our way downstairs. That's how every horror movie starts. The dumb teens are curious to see who exactly will decapitate them. Morons! Oh, wait! That's us right now!

"A brick with a note." David says, picking it up from the floor. The two windows on the both sides of the front door are broken, glass all over the wooden floor. He hands it to me and I sit on the last step of the stairs.

"Told you to back off, bitch! He's mine!"

"There is another one." He goes to the other broken window, picking the second one up and sitting beside mw. I guess it can get even worse!

"Last chance! Or there will be much worse consequences!"

I look at David's moving lips, but at this moment I can only hear the pounding beat of my terrified heart. I blink once, twice then everything turns peacefully black and quiet.
