"Are you sure you want me at skate night tonight?" Y/N looked at her boyfriend of 3 months as she played with the sleeves of her jersey.

"I'm sure the guys would love to meet you, Y/N." Jakob grabbed his car keys before stopping by her. "Don't worry about it, sweetheart. Let's just have fun tonight." He smiled her before planting a kiss on her forehead. "I love you."

"I love you too, Jakob," Y/N smiled back at him, returning the kiss before she grabbed her wallet and opened the door for the pair to leave. "Now, come on! You don't want to be late, do you?"

"No, I don't want to be late," he quickly walked out the door and grabbed her hand.

"Oh, finally you guys came!" Y/N and Jakob were greeted by Lawson. He was the reason as to why Y/N and Jakob got together in the first place.

"We weren't that late, geez, Lawson," Jakob muttered at his friend before attacking him with a hug. "It's good to see you again, Law."

"Jakob, we just saw each other at practice this morning..." Lawson looked at him in a weird manner before he moved on to Y/N. "It's great to see you again, Y/N! How's university up in Toronto?"

"It's going very well, thanks for asking Law," she smiled, giving him a friendly hug. "How are you doing in the league this year?"

"Ehh, I've been doing alright, thanks for asking." Lawson shrugged his shoulders, talking with the couple for 10 minutes before he skated off to another spot in the rink and talked with other people.

"Hey, Chych!" Y/N heard someone skate up to them, only to find another one of Jakob's teammates. "You must be Y/N!"

"Yep, that's me." Y/N chuckled to herself for a moment before outstretching her hand for him to shake. "You must be Oliver!"

Oliver nodded his head, playing with the puck on his stick for a few seconds for a few seconds before looking back at Y/N. "Jakob told me that you play hockey, are you interested in a 5-on-5 game with a few of us?"

Y/N looked at Jakob, who had a smile on his face and nodded his head before she looked back at Oliver. "Sure, I'd love to play a round of 5-on-5." Grabbing a stick she found on the bench, she turned back to Oliver, "are we playing or what?"

"Lawson! Pass the puck to me, I'm open!" Y/N shouted across the ice, tapping her stick on it a few times before he passed the puck to her. Skating up to the opponent's zone, she looked around her surroundings, to find Jakob and Oliver skating up to her to get the puck and she knew the one thing she had to do. Which was to shoot the puck into the net from where she currently was. Taking a deep breath in and out, she composed herself before she took a swing at the puck.

She let out a sigh of relief as soon as she saw the puck slip past the goalie and into the net.

"Whoo! Way to go, L/N!" Lawson and Brendan came up to me to celebrate my goal. "Nice shot you took, Y/N!"

"Thanks, Lawson, thanks, Brendan." She smiled at the two hockey players before giving them a fist pump. Skating up to Jakob, she kissed him on the lips.

"I love seeing you play hockey," Jakob mumbled as he continued to kiss her, not wanting to let go of her.

"Oi, Jakob! There are kids around here, so let's keep things PG!" Y/N heard Lawson, Brendan, and Oliver shout from the bench. "Y/N and Jakob sitting on a tree, kissing!"

"Why do I hang out with them sometimes?" Jakob groaned as soon as he pulled away from the kiss, with a giggle being Y/N's response.

"Because they're your teammates and friends. And you love hanging out with them."

"Yeah, especially me, right Jakob?" Lawson yelled back and the two other players whacked him on the shoulders.

"Yeah, especially you, Lawson." Jakob smiled sarcastically at him before turning back to Y/N. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, Jakob." Y/N smiled back at him before pulling him back for another kiss.
