"I had a nightmare about you, and I wanted to make sure you were alright." (521 words)

---

Beads of cold sweat were starting to form on the American's forehead as his eyes remained closed, yet they were moving around rapidly.

"No... Please, don't take her away from me...." Alex sleepily muttered under his breath as he tossed to his left side. He shook his head, trying to not think about it. The time was around fifteen to two in the morning, and Alex was usually not awake at this time of the day. But, due to the nightmare, he couldn't get an ounce of sleep, which was going to affect his mood in the morning.

Alex opened his eyes in fear and shock as he looked at the surroundings around him, and he observed the environment he was in. It was up to the point where he couldn't go back to sleep, but he needed comfort from someone. And the special someone was his girlfriend, Y/N, who lived on the other side of Montréal.

---

"Hold on! I'm coming, just calm down will-Alex! What are you doing here at almost two in the morning?" Y/N opened the apartment door to find her boyfriend standing outside.

"I-I had a nightmare," Alex shakily sighed as he tried to keep his breathing under control. "Is it alright with you if I stayed here for the rest of the night?"

"Alex, of course, you can stay here for the night." Y/N stood behind the door and made way for him to enter the house. "Would you like some tea? Water?"

"Water would be fine, thanks." Alex took his shoes off and followed Y/N into the kitchen, who got a glass of water ready for him.

He took a big gulp of the ice-cold water, which made Y/N nervous. Alex usually didn't act this way unless he was scared of something or he was nervous about a life event.

"Honey, what was your nightmare about?" Y/N frowned as she looked into his icy blues eyes, trying to search for an answer within them. But, all she could see were a hidden secret and sadness behind his emotions.

"I... I had a nightmare about you." Alex quietly spoke to himself as he set the glass down on the kitchen island. He didn't look into Y/N's eyes as he confessed, but Y/N wanted him to look into her eyes. Eventually, he slowly got to maintaining eye-contact with her. His eyes were threatening to spill tears, but he didn't want them to fall down. "I wanted to make sure you were alright. I thought I lost you, Y/N."

Y/N's heart shattered into a million pieces, and she immediately ran into his large arms. She pressed a passionate yet tender kiss on his lips, not wanting to let him go. "I'm right here, Alex. It was all a dream."
